About 50 police in George street, Hove right now. Also an ever growing group of "EDL looking types" gathering at the Wetherspoons pub. I could be wrong, they could be England fans starting early before a trip to Wembley, but this lot don't look capable of spelling Wembley let alone going there.

Why do they always choose Brighton to 'protest'.

What annoys me is that both sets of protesters choose the worst weekend in terms of things that are happening in brighton to do it, they had to cancel the music festival in Whitehawk due to police being too stretched

Yet they claim they want a peaceful protest? Bollocks

Most of the police in Hove have been drafted in from Warwickshire. I stopped to have a chat with a couple of them, they seem quite happy to be spending the day by the seaside.

16 police horses brought down for the weekend to deal with any problems.

George St hasn't seen anything as exciting since:

- a crowd of 6 gathered to watch the switching on the Xmas lights, sponsored by Hove Business Association, with a budget of £92.16; or

- Zimmer rage - 2 grannies came to blows when one accused another of overtaking.

Deliberately pick bank hol weekends, affecting resorts business. 'Nice' people within both extreme entities.

My favourite lot of these bellends is "UK Uncut". They protest about rich people and corporations not paying enough tax.

The real beauty of this though is that I would say only 0.1% of those protesting are actually net Tax contributors (ie put more into the system then they take out).

Jeff Marsh (ex-Cardiff City soul crew hooli) has friends with the brighton edl lot, they said they were going to coming down to pay the ukuncut street 'party' a visit, was over twitter a few days ago. Twitter these guys update twitter fairly regularly, and the police are known to use the information (silly, i know) to determine whether trouble will happen.

But yeah, always the worse days to protest. Perhaps we could just send them to stanmer park's deep end and allow them to skirmish there. Save tax payer's money for sure...

Their arguments seem fair, but their solutions are bat shit crazy. The whole "vodafone owes the uk 6 billion" isn't strictly true, since some profit was generated in European countries, and was just put into a uk bank account...

Don't tell anyone, but there's a little bit of me that would quite like to see the usual rent a mob UKuncut/SmashEDO type protesters get a slap off the EDL bunch.
