Wow, sad.

Top player, seemed a decent bloke.

Teed off in a fourball just before him so he could watch my graceful drive in Marbella back in 2005.

RIP Trev.

I remember when the Bexhill Observer splashed with "Trevor Francis buys The Devonshire" one Thursday, along with a photo of the £1m player.

The Duke of Devonshire, that is - then the biggest pub in town.

All very well, but it wasn't actually that Trevor Francis making the purchase. It was some bloke from London.

Was thinking about him only yesterday, for reasons I'm not really sure about. I was wondering (a) how good he really was, given the status that went with that transfer, and (b) why we don't really hear from him these days.

Sad to lose him and his place in English football history is secure. RIP

Wasn’t there a story back in the day that Cloughie refused to pay £1M and the actual transfer was £999,999 or something?

Anyhow, RIP Trev 🥲
