Transport Levy....£30 confirmed as per NSC exclusive

irrespective.....I am still paying a subsidy for these people. Its not my fault that Southern cant be arsed to check tickets, or the bus companies cant be arsed.

Anyway the thing to do is mail the club about the stupidity of the travel tax, if enough people dissent I suspect it will change with an opt out period where the onus is on the STH to prove to the club they do not need this additional tax.
It all seems to come down to "Me, Me, Me ..." with you two.

How about moaning a bit more about the Club taking unnecessary money off fans to fund the Development Squad, even though most fans never go to watch them play?

Missed all this yesterday, must admit I never buy a ticket from Brighton to Falmer and so far I don't feel bad about it, not really a service worth paying for! Anyhow, happy to pay an extra 2.50 and have an option of buses etc.

if it's not worth paying for why use it? End of the day it is theft.

People might want to think how much the club have to pay out to Southern, the bus companies, coach companies, Universities etc etc etc before moaning about £2.50 an effing month

Unfortunately the innocent will be punished, of which I am one, but is it fair that the guilty still pay nothing, I don't think so ?
This way we all contribute. Have you got a suggestion for a fairer system then?

yes, you have an opt out and make sure people who use it, pay for it

It's the best way forward and gives the club a tick in the box for the transport policy.

Didn't hear anyone complaining at Withdean, club should have done this in the first place anyway. Doesn't bother me....

Don't worry Dear Lord, there will be one hell of a lot of me, me type people over this.

Just like other stupid things like the forced moving of the family stand for one.

It's hardly a lot, it makes the clubs travel plans simpler and it smooths relations with the council, bus company and Southern Rail in one go. I already pay for my normal bus pass, but they wouldn't let me on the club buses with it previously (although I only tried for the Donny game). Now I can use that, or I can go and the P&R with my dad, suits me well.

Does anyone know what 'the zone' is? as we are now at Falmer and not Withdean... it always used to seem very bias towards West Sussex.
Not much point if travelling from Eastbourne you'd have to buy a ticket to Lewes anyway as the price difference is probably about 25p or similar, So hopefully it would cover somewher like Polegate.

... to say nothing of paying the costs of providing extra stewards to discourage unauthorised parking at places like Esporta.

I wonder if this levy will apply equally to children as well. Thirty quid is not a bad price for the season and i don't mind paying even though i don't directly benefit as i pay to park at the university. However i have two children and that bumps up the increase considerably.

it does demonstrate to the council that the club is committed to encouraging as many fans as possible to travel by public transport.

The trains and buses need to be getting paid, I bought my travel vouchers, but have yet to be asked to show one unless I travel an hour and a half before kick off from Seaford. I think I'm in the minority after over hearing plenty of people talking about never buying a ticket. The train company obviously know how many people travel on match days and if the revenue doesn't come any where close it's the club who will have to pay anyway, quite reasonable for them to pass this cost onto the fans.

It's not as though the people who have been buying the vouchers will have to pay more. It's the people who make their own way to the Amex who could possibly feel aggrieved but they should blame all the people who abuse the trains by not paying for hurting the club and themselves.
