We signed a DM at the start of the transfer window. Looks like we are about to sign another one too. Caicedo was always going to be extremely difficult to replace.
Dahoud isn't a Caicedo replacement, not even close- he is a Mac Allister replacement. Baleba also looks more Mwepu than Caicedo.

Doesn't necessarily have to be of the same quality, as obviously that's going to be bordering on impossible, but just someone to do the dirty work.

West Ham sold Rice and replaced him with Alvarez, Ward-Prowse and Kudus. We sold Ali Mac and Caicedo and have so far replaced them with Dahoud on a free. I'm aware we have a strict transfer strategy and it's generally a good thing but we now need to spend some of the money we've made.
Don’t forget we also lost Enoch last season
we have lost 3 centre midfielders and replaced them with one free transfer

I think that’s the real issue with most . We all knew they were leaving and we r leaving it until a week to go ?

Pedro
Milner
Dahoud
Igor
Verbruggen

Were all bought in early.

It’s the nature of the beast I’m afraid, all part of the transfer window merry go round, none of us know what’s going on behind the scenes, how close we are to a few deals and what the position is with other clubs. Reality is lots of deals go down to the wire and if I was a betting man I wouldn’t put it past us to have 3 or 4 incomings in this final week.

Let’s pass judgement once the window closes.

I have said PB has often said if a player leaves we have 3 replacements lined up. Assume they are now looking for 4th or 5th We have known about Mac and Caicedo for months. Ensisco has made this urgent.

Fair enough. There is a fair amount of him breaking up play in there too. He isn't a tough tackler though, I will concede that.

Wasn’t targeting you at all :).

Just frustrated that today we lacked a specialist DM or two, it was so obvious. I thought the same against Luton, but obviously they were pants at finishing.

Oh it's fine. I'm more frustrated that some people are suggesting that RDZ is unhappy when he clearly isn't. I have complete faith that he will find a solution with what he has or will have by the end of the window.

That was a contender for the Nobel Prize for Literature (fiction category).

But as you mention it, the club imho must give RDZ a RB and DM next week.
