As at 8pm this evening, Wednesday 31st January, Albion had made two deadline day signings, bringing in Australian international midfielder Nick Ward on long-term loan from QPR and signing former Le Havre captain Alexis Bertin.
Both have joined until the end of the season, but the the club are still in the market for new faces and are poised to make two further additions after the transfer window shuts at midnight tonight.
Former Seagulls keeper Alan Blayney - who enjoyed two loan spells with the club - is flying in from Northern Ireland to train with Albion tomorrow morning with the view to signing for the club for a third time.
The Northern Ireland international would be an ideal replacement for Preston-bound Wayne Henderson, and can sign for Albion after the deadline as a free agent after leaving Doncaster Rovers by mutual consent last week.
Albion have also agreed with Ipswich to take Dean Bowditch on loan once he is match fit. Bowditch has already been with Albion for two months, but will return for a further month's spell taking his stay with Brighton to 93 days, the maximum for a short-term loan.
Dick Knight initially negotiated a full loan to the end of the season for Bowditch, but Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has decided he needs to be able to recall Bowditch, which is not possible on a long-term loan.
In addition Arsenal defender Joe O'Ceaurill has agreed to extend his loan spell by a further month. His current period was due to expire after Saturday's match with Rotherham, but the Gunners are happy for him to remain with Albion.
Meanwhile Knight tonight told seagulls.co.uk the club made six-figure bids for Hull City striker Nicky Forster, Millwall forward Darren Byfield and League One leading scorer Leon Constantine during the past month.
Knight said, "We were made aware Nicky Forster was available and made a £100,000 bid, but after his recent form Hull's chairman Adam Pearson told me the player was no longer for sale.
"Ten days ago I also bid £150,000 for Darren Byfield and entered detailed negotiations with Millwall, upping my offer to £165,000 earlier this week. However yesterday Millwall informed me that they wanted around £300,000 for the player.
"Yesterday I also had a £150,000 bid accepted by Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt for Leon Constantine. Negotiations with the player's agent Eric Hall on contract terms were successfully concluded this morning, but despite both Dean Wilkins and myself talking directly to the player, Leon has decided to stay at Vale.
"He is 28 years old and wants to see out his contract to the end of the season and then move to a Championship club during the summer.
"Albion fans will see that Dean and I have made massive efforts to bring in quality experienced strikers, with the club being prepared to pay big money for the right player. Dean Bowditch will be returning and we are still in the market for the right kind of loan signing."
