I never have sympathy with strikers. Just supporting unions who are incapable of reasonable negotiation. The unions should do what they are well paid to do.

Without the possibility to go on a strike, people would work 12 hours a day six days a week with very very limited payment. Its the right-wing dream, but if it ever happened, the right-wing would suddenly decrease very quickly in numbers when discovering its not all that fun being enslaved.

The RMT are paid to get their members better T&CS and as far as I know they usually do. In fact it wasn’t too long ago Tory Boy Baker lite was bragging about his train driver’s salary and how the unions benefited him.

In the case of a British pop star then.

Call him Elton, Mick, Bono, Rod or Sheena.

They might sell tons of music here, but live in a California mansion overlooking the surf.

How do you tax that?

You think the top earners pay all the tax they should now?

Never? Then you must have worked only for benevolent employers, and I am mildly jealous of you.

But perhaps you are unaware that the government is preventing the companies from reaching a successful negotiated settlement with the rail unions. So what recourse do workers have if 'reasonable negotiation' is not possible?

Indeed. A neighbour of mine is a right wing Tory who works at Gatwick Airport on security, he is phenomally well paid for the job that he does, isn't very good at it, and from what l can gather, relies on his union for keeping him in employment.

He really can't understand the irony of it.

Do we think the Spurs match is very likely to be moved?

Palace obviously was in similar circumstances, with the main difference being the rivalry and risks that come with it

The unions are paid to represent the workers and the RMT and Aslef do a bloody good job and I support them.

The nation would be a far better place if Mike Lynch was running the show.

No. Palace was moved for specific safety related reasons which will not affect this game.

CPFC had a further issue around parking availability whereas Spuds hasn't any parking restrictions so will no doubt proceed as planned.

All those on strike obviously don't get paid for the days they are on strike.
It's going to be a war of financial attrition in the end.
Not that Lynch worries about it as he gets paid regardless

Why does CP create parking issues but TH doesn't?
I thought trains will still be running on Southern and Thameslink except Gatwick express so it will just be more limited crowded on the day?

The club have put on games before when there have been limited or no trains .
It’s a mix of extra Park and Rides and dozens of free coaches replacing Lewes/Falmer and Brighton/Falmer. And maybe elsewhere . if they’re confident enough to say the game won’t be moved, they’re presumably confident to be far advanced with plans like that. Won’t be enough for some on here of course ha ha.

Seagull Travel have added extra routes this afternoon for those who need to find an alternative way of getting to the game

Is there an official map anywhere of what the no parking zone around the Amex is? I'm assuming areas like Coldean are a no go but Hollingdean? Portslade? Patcham etc.be useful to know

You can't park anywhere it says 'permit holders only' unless you have a permit. Coldean & Moulsecoombe have matchday parking 'permit holders only'. You'd have to look on the council website to find out the parking zones. I don't think the club will put out a map of where to park for free as it may p'**s off the residents in those areas!

Having seen Lynch in action, you’re really going to have to try harder than this.
