National Rail says:

A landslip between Lewes and Brighton means the line towards Brighton is blocked. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 12:30.

If there is a landslip I would expect delays would be more likely expected until 30/12/23.

12:30 seems optimistic doesn't it?

In the UK, yes.

There are months ahead of fluorescent jacketed blokes standing there with clipboards, with a roving reporter there for the first week at 18:30 from BBC SE.

Line has now reopened, however expect delays.

Would also expect delays outwards from Brighton in the direction of Falmer if there has been trains unable to arrive at Brighton from Lewes
