From North Chailey, I suggest Uckfield - London Bridge. I was pleasantly surprised to see it is only £7.40 return with a Network card. Lewes - LB is £19 with a bus replacement!

I have seen the trainline is closed between brighton and three bridges on saturday,
Can anyone suggest any alternative routes

Brighton to London Bridge via Littlehampton is 2hrs.

e.g. the 11.00 service from Brighton to Three Bridges via Littlehampton is a direct train taking 1hr 21 mins (this is a London Victoria service).

You then get the 12.27 from Three Bridges to London Bridge getting in at 13.00.

Personally I'd rather have an extra 20mins or so on the train than mess about with buses.

That is a great shout. Its only an hour and a quarter and cheap as chips, if you can get to Uckfield

I love these threads. How on earth would NSC members manage to get around in their day-to-day lives and negotiate the complexities of public transport, without constant advice from fellow NSC members (most of which is, in any case, freely and almost instantaneously available on websites and others sources....)?

So it's either drive to Three bridges or drive to Uckfield then. Or just drive the whole way I suppose.

There is nothing easy or instantaneously available in terms of rail travel. NSC has provided some cracking deals on rail travel that you simply would be hard pushed to find on any one single website. I haven't seen anything on the rail sites suggesting trains from Uckfield or going to Littlehampton to go to London Bridge. I suspect NSC has in fact helped quite a few people out.

Quite, its not as if he is asking how to get to Millwall then I would agree with the other poster.

btw if anybody wants to know there are cheapish tickets available to Nottingham on East Midlands at the moment and its cheaper to do Southern and East Midlands seperately aswell.

Travelling from Shoreham, I was thinking I would go via Littlehampton and up the Arum valley.

However, it's still 20 minutes quicker to go to Brighton and Bus to Three Bridges. Added advantage of this is that it's then direct to London Bridge from Three Bridges, where as a journey the other way would require a further change at East Croyden.

What's the cheapest way to split the journey up?

In the past, ive got a London Travelcard on Southern (to/from London and tube) then London to wherever using EMT. Remember for Forest, game has already been moved for a 12:whatever KO so it should be safe to book tickets.

RE Millwall - if you are fine with using a bus - then go from Brighton/Lewes to Three Bridges by bus - if not then drive to Three Bridges or Uckfield and go from there - both direct to London Bridge.
