My Mrs is also trying to apply a one in one out policy to my trainer purchasing, but it's not working.

Am I alone in only wearing trainers for sporting activity? Otherwise they give me athlete's foot if I'm not careful.

I've got a pair of Merrell walking shoes/trainers, and my current spoprting footwear (mainly gym) are Asics. But in the past for running I have had Nike, new balance, Asics and Brooks. I like Asics best, I think.

Hoka for running. Asics/Diadora/Reebok/Saucony retro styles for everyday wear. Like the poncey special editions and collabs on Hanon website - clearance section mind

For actually training (well, running), generally Brooks.

For general wear, Adidas Originals. Back on a Stan Smith thing currently.

I procured a pair of these last year. Leather Stan Smith.

I bought two pairs of Y3 boxing trainers in the sales a couple of months back as they had 50% off. Still more than I would normally spend on a pair of trainers but couldn't decide which pair to go for. Was going to send the pair I liked least back. Liked them both so never got motivated to go to the post office.

Before those I've been pretty much exclusively Adidas originals for the last twenty years. I went through a stage of getting Lacoste trainers because I could get them at cost price through a relative. But like the rest of their brand the quality of the shoes has got worse and worse IMO. Had a pair of Puma Bluebirds which were cracking and a couple of pairs of onitsuka tiger also very good.

DC's for me. Been wearing them for years and when I do occasionally stray elsewhere I am always disappointed as DC's are so comfortable and hard wearing.

DC's or Etnies for me.

I love Adidas trainers but Nike are the better fit (for me) Adidas always seem to be hit-and-miss with their sizing

I have North Face walking shoes, used for hiking, wet weather and walking the dog, they are great and last for ages.

Can't agree more...They've lasted almost three years of non-stop use so haven't done bad for £100.

The only problem I have with this colour in leather (I have similar Timberlands) is the need to wash them after nearly every use. They seem to attract dirt quite easily, do you find this?
