No trains Three Bridges and Brighton/Lewes at present, overrunning work at Haywards Heath. Buses being arranged and tickets accepted on other routes.
****ing joke. Wouldn't happen in Germany.
DELAYS are expected on a train route into Sussex this morning. Southern Rail has said its 7.17am service from London Victoria to Southampton Central, which stops at stations including Gatwick and Horsham, is running ten minutes later due to engineer works which over ran.
But a spokesman said the train was "running fast" to make up time.
The work, which was taking place in Haywards Heath, means services between Three Bridges and Brighton, Haywards Heath, Lewes, and Worthing are also affected.
A Southern Rail spokesman said: " Journeys may be delayed up to 20 mins, altered or cancelled at short notice. Apologies for any inconvenience."
Some services are returning to normal but delays could continue until 8.30am.
South West Trains are accepting tickets between London and Portsmouth until 8am.
First Great Western are accepting tickets between Redhill and Guildford until 8am.
Southern Rail has a mutual agreement with Thames Link Rail to accept each other's tickets between London and Brighton until 8am.
07:29 London Bridge to Horsham is 15 mins late and running fast between East Croydon, Redhill and Gatwick
08:17 London Victoria to Littlehampton will be 8 instead of 12 coaches between London Victoria and & Haywards Heath.
09:10 Haywards Heath to Eastbourne will be 4 instead of 8 coaches
I'm not sure if you're joking, German train reliability is a bit of a myth, isn't it?
****ing joke. Wouldn't happen in Germany.
It might yet. Marcel Fratzscher, head of the German Institute for Economic Research and Government adviser has a few choice things to say: crumbling economy...infrastructure becoming obsolete...companies preferring to invest abroad...loyalty to German own brands evaporating....and a damning article from Der Spiegel has this little nugget that you might find interesting:
...
By the way, he's got a new book out called "Der Deutschland Illusion". It sounds like it might be right up your street.
He's sounding off in The Economist too.

Sounds an interesting book

And here's the book - looks like a light read

Interesting to see that the UK isn't doing too poorly in government investment but that remark about the creation of part-time jobs must resonate with Osborne too
