Leeds United boss Dennis Wise has admitted his side have missed out on a number of transfer targets because of their extended spell in administration.
The Whites went into administration on May 4th amid debts of £35million only for Ken Bates to regain control at Elland Road at the start of this month.
However, due to legal reasons United cannot formally exit administration until a further 28 days have elapsed, further adding to Wise's transfer woe.
The Whites boss though insists there will be no excuses as his side bid to bounce back from their exit from the top two divisions for the first time in their history.
Wise told The Yorkshire Post: "We are talking to players but unfortunately we are having to wait.
"There are a lot of players we initially earmarked who have gone," he added. "It is about 10 but we understand the situation so we will not harp on about it.
"I am not here to make excuses or say 'we are miles behind people, give us time'. No, we will try as quickly as possible to get in the players we need and then take it from there."
Wise though insists the club will be bringing in new talent and urged supporters to be patient.
"It will take us a little bit of time at the start of the summer to bring in the kind of players we want to bring in," added Wise.
