I reckon the table could look very different come April. A defeat or a draw at Plymouth for Swindon would be good if we can pull off a win at Port Vale. I'm starting to get enthusiastic again and with a good run we COULD challenge for a top 2 place again, if other results go our way.

Probably a bit too much to ask top two - but this football, and who ever said we have to be logical about these things?

AUTO SPOT HERE WE COME!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Couple more good results, a renewal of enthusiasm and massive away support again as the bandwagon rolls. This team, when it believes in itself, is more than a match for any team in this division. An unbeaten run is long overdue. I've been depressed by Falmer all season, Feck it I'm gonna get enthusiastic again about the football, until I'm let down :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

You need around 90 points to finish in the top 2. The most we can get is 89, which would mean winning our remaining 11 games, six of which are away.

Considering we have won only 3 away all season, do you honestly believe that is going to happen? Thought not. Best look forward to the playoffs as I'm confident with our run-in that we should make those and could possibly finish 4th.

If we can revive the "spirit of '88" we could do it. Remember when we went on a winning streak and won every match in April '88, overhauling Notts County in 2nd spot, after they'd looked nailed-on for most of the season to go up with Sunderland....ahhh, happy days.

Good analysis Simster! I pretty sure we will make the play offs due to our home form. I would have thought that MsGhee is experienced enough to be aware of this and also the away form factor. I think the most important thing is that we dont stutter into the play offs. Yes, an unbeaten run is well over due and if we can enter May as the form team then promotion is on the cards. I actually think our best chance of going up is if Bristol City and QPR go up automatically. That would mean Plymouth stuttering and with their recent managerial vacancy then they would be the team for the taking. If need be I cant see Luton, Wrexham, or Swindon doing us over.

If we beat Vale that would help restore away confidence and I reckon we could then get results at Blackpool, Cheaterfield and Sheff Wed.
As long as the home form holds ... who knows!!!

So we're going to win at Port Vale, Blackpool, Chesterfield and Sheffield Wednesday then.

Right. Tell you what, I'll have some of what you're having.

If we beat Port Vale I see no reason why we can't win at least two of those away games. I personally think we can win them all, I am drunk though.

Id like to see another one of those programs that Grimsby done on their website last season where you can input all your estimated results for the rest of the season and it will print a final league table for you. Does anyone know if there is one in place for this season?

Reading followed us up in 01/02 with 84 points
last season it was Crewe with 86

Still agree with you though Simster - playoffs it is this season
