What would you say to a man who took a job as a "host" at an all women's event and was told to he needed to be muscly and attractive, and had to wear particular underwear, and he told you that one of those women held his hand? Or even grabbed his bum?

You would have enough respect for him to know that a) he's not likely to be so naive as to be surprised, and b) he can probably handle it.

Yes, the only person who has said it was the person who was there. Loads of people who weren't there have said there was no sexual harassment.

I got the impression she took the job for the night as a way of "undercover reporting", i.e. she was after the story.

I'd like to hear from those women who actually took that work honestly, knowing what they were doing, not the journalists who crashed it so they could get offended.

I hope everyone is just as outraged for these guys and wants to see these women publicly shamed and lose their jobs too, and if not, why not?

I heard it referred to as, sexual abuse, sexual assault and sexual harassment on the BBC yesterday.

You are refusing to distinguish to the point of dishonesty. They were not "Out at the pub", were they. They were "hostessing", having made sure they were wearing the required underwear.

If that happened to my wife while she was "Out at the pub" yes I'd set the guy straight, as you put it. But if it happened to her while she was hostessing at the Presidents Club, while wearing the required underwear, most of my questions would be for her tbh.

You are possibly a model as stated and asked to wear skimpy clothing with matching underwear - would that not set alarm bells ringing when applying for what appears to be a very well paid shift? Sorry but sex sells (not talking prostitution which is one of the oldest trades that exists). Like that or not, It aint right but these girls would have known what to expect, and no, I wouldn't let my daughters even apply, because they wouldn't be so stupid. No point in trying to be on a high horse here and say this shouldn't happen in 2018. Its supply and demand, simples. To say the room was full of testosterone, what a stupid statement. There were 133 fit girls dressed in skimpy clothes and black underwear, in a room full of men pissed on champagne and probably a fair few coked up.

Its not ideal but men will be men and women arent all that innocent neither

wow....lets turn this into a class war issue.

This wasn't a working mans club and listening to Shelagh Fogarty's programme yesterday the ladies phoning up , some of whom had worked at events like this in the past and at this particular one ,were far from being "poor ". A lot of them who called in were from the escort agency industry and knew that it can get out of hand and in most cases knew that a swift knee to the privates worked..

I am not condoning this in any shape or form however time is moving on and maybe the days of gentlemen's clubs are a thing of the past. Certainly behaviour as to what is acceptable and what is not is changing and for the better, but just reflects what is going on in society.

I wonder what will come next...outlawing lap dancing clubs, "strip joints", that sort of thing. maybe society has moved on so that these establishments are archaic ...after all the propagation of free porn on the internet has taken away the titillation factor which when we were students, the Friday lunchtime "events" at the pub on lewes road, down from college, were heaving with men and young lads

Unfortunately sex (and the thought of it) sells. And there are a fair portion of women that know they will make a very good living selling it. That another portion of women aren't happy about that is a different moral debate, but I just don't see that our society will ever evolve past the types of clubs you mention simply because there's a demand for such things and enough women willing to meet that supply.

She didn't make a complaint. She made a report. She doesn't need anyone to substantiate her claims because she's not looking to prosecute anyone. The Presidents Club could have disputed the report and sued. The Presidents Club didn't. The Presidents Club apologised and disbanded. Seems fairly clear to me.
