Worthing
I couldn't see it anywhere else so......... Apologies if I've missed it.

I guess it was either a gutsy defensive display in the main or a toothless 'throw in the towel' display with poor tactics resulting in little emphasis on attack. Depends which side of the fence you are on.

For me we were just outclassed by a premier league team, so going for the first option.

Walton - 7 good handling. Sound debut
Calderon - 6 did his best.
Chicksen - 6 again struggled at times, but will be better for the experience
Hughes - 7 calming influence throughout
Dunk - 7 chased the ball at times, but crucial blocks
Ince - 8 MoM - for me. Looked at home.
Holla - 5 fairly anonymous never got to grips with the pace of the game
JFC - 5 see above
KLL - 6 went down easily when he could have got a shot away. Worked hard though
McCourt - 6 surprised he was withdrawn, as he ran at Tottenham. Doesn't do a lot defensively, but then without him we did little offensively
Colunga - 7 impressive running and hopefully is getting to grips with the pace of English football.

Tex - 5 lightweight, and easily brushed off the ball.
Gardner - 4 - Apparently came on, lost one 50/50 challenge and plodded back as normal. Threw his shirt to the crowd at the end (and missed ;-).
CMS - N/A - provided more purpose when he came on but it was about 5 mins so no rating.

Teixeira was absolutely useless when he came on.

Best comment of the night, as we trudged back along Seven Sisters Road, came from my 9 year old son (wearing his new orange shirt with Teixeira 17 on the back): "What idiot gets Teixeira on his shirt?"

Priceless and made my night - that and of course Leo's appearance (class act).

Walton - 7 good handling, poor kicking
Calderon - 6
Chicksen - 5 Got a nose bleed everytime he got past the half way line so kept stopping and either passed it backwards or lost possesion.
Hughes - 6
Dunk - 9 Fantatstic in the first half, seemed to be covering every area of defence
Ince - 6 Still looks like he's having one long panic when is possesion of the ball
Holla - 5 meh
JFC - 7 Best of the central midfielders
KLL - 6 Caused Spurs a few moments of worry but FFS stay on your feet
McCourt - 7 Must have listended to Sammi as he defended well helping Calde out and looked good going forward too. Suprised he was taken off.
Colunga - 6 do do do we had a shot on target

Tex - 4 lightweight, inefective and petulant
Gardner - 4 Rubbish and lazy.
CMS- 5 minutes? Yeah coz that's enought time isn't it.

Not ratings, but a couple of thoughts:

- Some real disparity rating Colunga last night (as there was on Saturday);
- Gardner seems to be getting less effective by the game;
- And Teixeira... What's happened to the lad? Clearly quality but he's starting to look a boy against men

...I didn't hold with all this early raving about Teixeira. A few fancy flicks and a bit of languid running and certain BHA fans were drooling at the mouth.
He is an immature show pony who cannot handle the slightest physical presence. In fact he's terrified of it. Opposition know it and within minutes he's a nervous wreck.
He is a liability.

Walton - 8 considering the lack of first team experience, looked assured. A safe pair of hands.
Calderon - 7 always trying to get involved.
Chicksen - 5 Feel a bit sorry for him. Has clearly been instructed to push forward but looks uncomfortable in doing so. His positioning is poor. I felt nervous whenever the ball went near him.
Hughes - 7 Looked solid and dependable. A strong deputy.
Dunk - 9 Another standout performance. Has a big engine and shows increasing maturity at the back. A real star.
Ince - 6 Mixed bag. Not great with the ball at his feet though did make a couple of decent tackles.
Holla - 6 Another mediocre performance. Team's form is starting to affect his confidence.
Forster-Caskey - 5 Willing, but a real lack of quality. Gives the ball away far too often and slows down play.
KLL - 5 Typical KLL display. Ran at defenders but still looks like Bambi on skates. Faded.
McCourt - 7 As ever the 'luxury player' but at least he has attacking intent. Some mazy runs.
Colunga - 5 Not very impressed, but he had a tough job with little support. Looks nothing like a prolific striker. May get the odd goal if we persevered. IF....

Texeira - 5 Ditto Holla. Looks a shadow of the player who started earlier in the season.
Gardner - 5 Made little contribution. Looks a bit confused. What's his role in the team? Has he been told??!
CMS- Not on long enough.

Walton 7. Very good performance, but kicking needs work.
Calderon 6. OK game.
Hughes 7. Good to have such an able back-up CB.
Dunk 8. Great game ... again. MOM.
Chicksen 6. Played much better than I had expected after the reports of his poor performance last time out. Would have liked to see him getting forward a bit more.
Ince 7. At times looks brilliant, but not consistent.
Holla 6. Played further forward than I have noticed in previous games. Did OK.
JFC 4. Spent most of the game losing the ball. Poor ... again.
McCourt 7. Spent most of the first half helping Calderon out at the back, but when he did get the ball his class told. Needs to start more games.
KLL 5. Disappointing performance. Too lightweight. Bundled off the ball too often. Lack of awareness of opposition players around him.
Colunga 6. Not a bad game. I think he has potential, but needs to play in a different formation.

Subs:
Texeira 3. Far far too lightweight. What happened to the potential he showed in those early games?
Gardner 4. Did nothing of note.
CMS. Not on long enough to rate, but did more in the 10 minutes he was on the pitch than many of his team-mates. Brought some much needed energy to the game.

After the battering we took for the first 20 mins I thought we were going to be in for a major thumping. Well done to the defence for holding out through this period.

The game again highlighted our complete lack of ideas, or a plan, going forward.

Unless we get a win on Saturday .... very unlikely ... Hyppia has got to go.

Walton - 7 one of the bright notes of the evening, we could well have seen a future Brighton legend make his debut or his only appearance before being sold to adhere to FFP.
Calderon - 6 such a tough role but manfully went about his duties.
Chicken - 6 a mixed bag some poor distribution but stuck to the task well.
Dunk - 9 I shudder to think what the score would have been without him.
Hughes - 8 played very well alongside Dunk.
Holla - 6 this applies to all the midfielders that it must be so down heartening when our tactics dictate the ball doesn't stick upfront so the midfield are continually fire fighting all night.
Ince - 8 best of the midfield a real presence in there.
JFC - 7 Got through plenty of work and looked assured on the ball.
Lua Lua - 6 tried hard but again the teams system meant he was regularly trying to beat the Spurs back line on his own.
McCourt - 6 too deep to hurt them again a victim of Hypia's tactics.
Colunga - 6 really felt for him as his not a lone striker and was continually asked to win headers against two bigger defenders.

Gardner - 4 poor when he came on
Tex - 4 see Gardner
CMS - 7 not a big CMS fan but for 5 minutes the ball stuck upfront and we had our best spell of the match. No coincidence for me.

I've not called for a managers head since the nineties but that display took tactical ineptitude to a new level. Playing a Colunga upfront on his own was like turning up to a porn shoot with 3 inches. It was never going to make an impact and I felt for the players who toiled away but didn't believe in the system.

Hypia has to go as we could well go down without a change in leadership.

Agree with all of this and add a few of my own

JFC - was ok last night, sure he lost the ball a couple of times but was busy in a slightly more advanced role

Colunga - made some good runs but I don't recall him retaining possession once, although he was up against Vertongen who was class

Chicksen - Thought he coped with Townsend pretty well and made some good tackles. His distribution however was poor

McCourt - His class with the ball at his feet is evident and he needs to be more involved. However he is completely ineffective defensively almost to the point of liability

Hyppia - could see what he was trying to do. Playing with two holding midfielders in front of the back 4 to keep it tight early on. But that meant we just invited pressure and never really got out.

Saved me the trouble as I agree with your ratings. CMS looked as if he was really up for it but 5 minutes?

In a cave
Walton 7 - thown in the deep end, thought he handled the ball well
Calderon 6
Dunk 8 - never gave up
Hughes 7 - looked calm against a tide of Spurs attacks
Chicksen 5 - under a lot of pressure and often gave the ball away
McCourt 7 - the ONLY player to find time, some great passing and defended well - and Hyppia takes him off for Gardiner - joke substitution
Ince 5
Forster-Caskey 5
Holla 5
Lua Lua 3 - looks like he couldnt careless - rather than beat the man he goes down again and again and again and now Refs expect it and give nothing
Colunga 6 - made himself available, but does not look like scoring

Texeira 3 - lightweight
Gardner 2 - offers nothing
CMS - I had gone before he came on so not fair for me to give him a score

We set out to contain and no more - other than Paddy NO creativity, Hyppia has destroyed Lua Lua as an attacking dangerous winger
