Mainly, it seems, as she wouldn't have travelled business class. Of course, she could simply have gone to Mexico not using business class - which presumably would have saved the tax payer money as well.

If you are going down that route it should be directed at all ministers.

I'd quite like to see them on a cheap £50 flight to paris on easyJet 🤣

I would prefer members of HMG and key staff, whether tory or labour, travel first class when on business. When I have done a bit of consulting in the US it has been limo, first class flight, limo. My brain has arrived in perfect order. And my work has been commended. Money well spent.

When greasing for cash, or doing a Priti (off piste, not working for the nation), they can f*** off and pay for it themselves. Obvs.

Edit: I see @Bodian has found an example of a grifting Tory (leadership candidate) taking the absolute piss. Who knew? (we all knew).

So glad they are out of it.

Meanwhile I see that the dimmest and most delusional of our right wing NSC chums have thrown in their lot with Farage.

Apparently Farage the grifter sees things that other people just cant see! :lolol:

West is BEST
We always knew he would disappear off somewhere to spend his life in luxury. Who cares what he does.

He’s yesterday’s news.

Imagine the shite Starmer would have got if he’d done this when leader of the opposition.

If the racists doing the rioting were parroting the phrase I’d spent a year being photographed in front of and had made the centrepiece of my election campaign I’d probably go into hiding too, to be fair

"That's not funny"

I very much beg to differ Liz.

The thing of it is, if she'd just laughed along when the first joke about it was made people ( probably ) wouldn't keep bringing it up.

I think we as a nation like our public figures to be able to laugh at themselves, to be able to take a joke. She can't. And so it will continually get brought up and she'll get angry and it will just continue forever.

Nowhere near as funny but former Tory minister Esther McVey has made a total arse of herself by comparing Starmer's proposal to extend the smoking ban with the "First they came" poem. Whether she thought it was clever or funny I have no idea but it is neither. Here is the poem:

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

And "then they came for the smokers"?? And I'm a smoker.

What a disgrace that woman is.

There’s some mad shit floating around the Conservative Party still, the lunatics are absolutely running the asylum there.
They’ve really not taken their election defeat well.

Ha.

Now I have put the ludicrous thread attacking the labour government, created the day after the election, on ignore, this is now the only political thread that seems to be visible to me on NSC.

Perhaps someone can create a new 'the Tory opposition' thread once they have elected their new smelly sock-puppet leader and this thread can be put to bed.

I just heard a female Tory making a leadership pitch on the radio and noted very weird pronunciation of the end of words and realised, f*** me, that's Priti Patel. Nothing online about it yet apart from the GBNews web page. <sigh>
