The gambling commission have told Labour that they are allowed to make names public once their investigation into them has begun. Not before.
So if the same message has been told to the Tories, Sunak is lying when he says he can’t share the names of the mystery Tories who are currently being investigated. He can name them. He can sack them. But he has no spine.

Not sure that it's been posted before so apologies if fixtures. This article is quite damning on the Tories who, traditionally, raise far more than Labour at election times.

I don't see this as being THAT much of an issue...it's like a football supporter putting a relegation bet on to soften the blow if it happens. The candidate in question for this instance wasn't using inside information.Betting against himself to win..
Having said that, it's entirely right that the leader of a party where there's something dodgy happening, takes immediate action. All parties surely would be headed by such people though, surely - particularly at election time?
Now that it’s been confirmed that up to 15 Tory candidates and officials are being investigated, I suspect the Tories will try and keep quiet about any other candidates. It could really affect their chances of getting over 100 MPs.

As many as 15 Conservative candidates and officials are under investigation by the Gambling Commission over bets on the date of the general election, it has been claimed.
Two Tory candidates were suspended on Tuesday over allegations they put money on a July poll and five party figures have now been publicly named as part of the watchdog’s inquiries.
Victoria Derbyshire, the BBC Newsnight presenter, told viewers on Tuesday night that the number of Tories being scrutinised could actually be up to three times that number. “In our investigation I’ve found that up to 15 Conservative Party candidates and officials are being scrutinised for alleged betting on the timing of the election,” she said.

It's only a claim so far, but given that the BBC have always been traditionally conservative, even before this cabal's more recent Conservative appointments

If he was bettign on himself to win, no big deal really. But by bettign on himself to lose opens himself up to claims he threw it and lost delibrately, cant be doing that.

No, it's like a football player or manager putting a bet on relegation because they have influence over their performance.
A fan betting on their team getting relegated in like a constituent betting on their MP losing their seat, not the MP betting on themselves to lose
