If that doesn’t work it’ll be to overturn the hunting ban
You know when they are in trouble when they look at abolishing inheritance tax, the Conservative emergency button.
Both the above policies would be primarily benefiting their own supporters. But the Tories often confuse the country at large with their own supporters.

This wine story is SO Brexit.

Let's change the industry standard, cause problems where none previously existed, get less of something whilst paying the same price and label it as 'Chateau Du Brexit Benefitte'.

It was one of Churchill's favorite, didn't you know?

"A 28-year-old British-born man who has never left the country has spoken of his devastation after being told he will be deported to Portugal, from where his parents arrived more than 30 years ago, under a post-Brexit policy towards EU nationals convicted of crimes."

Another Brexit bonus...

What were the crimes? Needs context

Drugs offences and carrying a taser.

Not too sure if the offences are that relevant to be honest. He was born in Britain and has never been out of the country - and is being deported to somewhere where he doesn't speak the language. And also, there is a pending change in the law - which when enacted would mean he would be treated as British - so it's not even as though the Government even think deporting him is a right thing to do.

RE the pint of wine proposal, on PM today, they referenced a survey on public attitudes to measurements. Remember the Brexit bonus of indulging the 'metric martyrs'? Well, 97.8% of the UK population favour the metric over the imperial system.

Rishi Sunak’s government has spied a “Brexit opportunity” to legalise the sale of wine by the pint once more – if it can persuade anyone to make the bottles.

Still and sparkling wine will be sold in 200ml, 500ml and 568ml (pint) sizes in 2024, alongside existing measures, under new rules, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) announced on Wednesday. It said the change was made possible by Brexit.
I'd rather buy a standard 750ml bottle of wine than a lightweight's 568ml small bottle.

They really should go the whole hog, and only allow wine to be sold in pint bottles.

And beer. They should ban those 500ml bottles that just pretend to fill your pint glass.

Good point.
500ml, 250ml and 330ml beer bottles should all be banned in favour of pint and half pint ones.

You can imagine the French running this story on their equivalent of 'Mock The Week'.

One of the saddest parts is that a bottle of wine is usually shared, whereas a pint of booze is normally consumed by an individual. Indeed, the pint bottle of wine is - in many ways - the perfect metaphor for Brexit.

Will the wine be Blue Nun and Le Piat d'Or by the pint so we can really get Brexit done and go back to how things used to be in the good old days?
Years back I had a holiday in Jersey and in a little Spar type supermarket they had a whole display of different sizes of Blue Nun...it was in 1.5L, 1L, 750 ml and a little pack of either 6 or 4 125ml bottles.....Black Tower is still available as another option...

More toxic air pollution has been averted by London’s ultra-low emission zones than is produced by the capital’s airports or its river and rail transport combined, according to a new analysis of the effects of the Ulez.
