You've said nothing there about the state of our rivers and seas. You've said nothing about increasing inequality. You've said nothing about our spiralling national debt. You've said nothing about the prospects of our kids ever owning a home. You've said nothing on reducing our national carbon emissions to a sustainable level.

And the irony? Tories don’t even care about small boats 😞

Good article here about a struggling headmaster trying to run a school in Oldham....

The UK government is failing more and more of it's citizens day by day. Then, when Labour or whoever take over next year and are saddled with the responsibility of fixing this mess, the Conservacunts will just bray from the sidelines about what a shit job they're doing.
This process will start from day 1. And worse, every effort to fix this mess will be vilified every single day on the tory networks of right wing misinformation like GB news and the Telegraph.

Taxes will have to go up. Of course they will. It doesn't mean that Labour are the party of high taxes. There really is no choice

Hunt saying they will do whatever it takes and spend whatever it costs to fix schools.

Too late. You had the chance to do all that and you declined.

Plus, you caused the crisis. So don’t get all hero on us now, as if you’re here to save the day. You caused this crisis by failing to live up to your responsibilities for over a decade.
But even then it's money coming from existing school budgets.

So realistically this money is coming from having fewer teachers

https://www.itv.com/news/2023-09-04...hers-have-been-sat-on-their-as-on-raac-crisis

The education secretary has been recorded on camera suggesting others "have been sat on their a***s" over the school Raac crisis, while saying the government should be thanked for their response.

As part of a morning round of interviews, Gillian Keegan was speaking to ITV News as it was confirmed there could potentially be hundreds more schools affected by the crisis.

In the moments after the main body of the interview had finished, and as the camera repositioned for extra shots, Keegan - still wearing her microphone - criticised others and claimed the government has gone "over and above" in addressing concerns relating to reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac).

"Does anyone ever say, you know what, you've done a f***ing good job because everyone else has sat on their a**** and done nothing," Ms Keegan said.

She added: "Any sign of that, no?"

Everyone else has sat on their **** eh?

Cheers Gill
She has come out of this looking worse than Sunak. Which is bloody hard to do!

Saw her on telly this morning claiming to not know anything about a £32m refurb at her office.

“Uhm yes, we’ll, uhm I have been working on a different floor than normal so I suppose yes, uhm there could be a refurb going on, I suppose yes it might have needed, uhm buildings do uhm yes, that makes sense because I’ve been on different floor, you see. Yes uhm”

****.

"Why aren't you thanking me for doing a good job?" asks Education Secretary at the same time as schools are having to be closed because they're not safe for children

It's almost like they've scraped through the bottom of the rotten barrel and are scratching at the dirt underneath now

Oh, they haven’t got the questionnaires back yet. That’s why they have made such slow progress. Those bloody questionnaires.
Presumably this is an attempt to shrug some of the blame onto headmasters? Building surveyors?

And apparently it’s been “going on since 1994”.
So that’s two Tory governments that have failed to act then?

This lady is quite a piece of work.

It seems she has a history of bullshitting….

“The education secretary has claimed teachers are “probably in the top 10 per cent of earners in some parts of the country”, and over-stated the average head’s salary by over £20,000.

Speaking to LBC this morning, Gillian Keegan also claimed teachers’ salaries were “a lot higher than the average salaries across the country”.

But that doesn’t fit with salary data published by the Department for Education. The latest school workforce data shows the average classroom teacher earned £39,000 in 2020-21”.
