Hi Guys

Oh boy do I have a waist threatening task ahead of me! I need your help!

Looking at trying to list the best Restaurants and Foodie Pubs to eat in Brighton and beyond! This is all for a book that will subsequently be sold by charities and good causes to raise money for themselves.!

Any advice on where to go, would be gratefully received, and I will (honestly) take all submissions and draw one name to receive a FREE BOOK when published!

Best restaurants: Due South, Terre a Terre and Gingerman win all the accolades in Brighton and the first two certainly well warrant it (I've not been to Gingerman so can't comment).

Best foodie pub in Sussex has to be The Griffin at Fletching - superb food with fantasic views from the garden

Half Moon Warninglid is very good (quite near Gatwick)

hop poles in middle street had some tasty dishes.. the food werent bad neither.

also komedia, in garder street? the krater club nights had slightly dear bar snacks, but portions were plentiful.

Lots.

The Rainbow at cooksbridge is a great gastopub very similar to The Jolly Sportsman at East Chiltington.

In Brighton, Blanch House is my fav but also very good are Gingerman at Norfolk square and also Gingerman at Drakes. One Paston Place is suposed to be excellent but not been there.

The Greys on Southover Street is regularly singled out as having the best pub food in Brighton and Hove and I haven't found anything to top it yet.

Restaurant wise I am a massive fan of Terre a Terre

The Yeoman, up from the station, used to do great food with MASSIVE portions.

You've got to include the Neslon too. A pre-match fixture for me (when I go!)

It's Harry's.....Eddie's is the takeaway on Sackville rd with half of B&Q's stock of Xmas decorations outside

Recently discovered MacDonalds. What a place, never knew it existed until recently but great food, atmosphere and staff.

Drakes, Gngerman, Ginger Pig & the new one he has opened, used to be Shaves Thatch, Ginger Fox I think. Good Friends has to be the best Chinese FACT. Went there yesterday and full of Chinese people...we were the only people with round eyes in the place.

Englishes, Due South, Riddle & Finns.

Cowdray Arms between Balcombe and Crawley. Also not forgetting the Basketmakers in Brighton.

The Friars Oak on the A273 just outside Hassocks does some FABULARSE grub. Considering how ponced-up the menu is (for a pub), the portions are generous and the prices very reasonable. I had pork with a pear stuffing, which is served with an incredibly rich, thick gravy and sauteed potatoes - it was so good I nearly WEPT. And that was only about £8.

All I could see there was "shaved ginger thatch"
