It seems his main beef was that some photographers were around (shock horror) on a player day out in a public safari park yesterday. As if they weren't going to at least try and get a picture of Crouchie next to a giraffe.

Don't they have security. A large man with a bulge under his armpit and talking up his sleeve hiding behind his Wayfarers, would surely be more affective and more dignified and affective than Fabio having a rant.

what a load of nonsense. why oh why do the press do this? i read about "capello losing it" "feeling the pressure" etc etc and then watched the little video. he simply told some press to stop taking pictures of the dressing room, seems perfectly reasonable to me. hardly "fuming" was he. sit this next to the "rooney will explode" nonsense (as if he hasn't been playing in crucial matches for years without "exploding") and it just looks more and more like our press want us to lose. why oh why?

Because they don't have a story at present to latch on to, (the England fans largely behave themselves these days), they will happily try and create one, and won't think twice about lying on the back of something 'a source' told them.
I was interested in listening to what Joe Cole said. It seems the players are actually publicly stating that they are fed up with the press and their instrusions. I don't recall the players ever saying that; the odd grumble from the management maybe, but not the players.
In 2006, Sven tried the ultimately self-defeating but not unreasonable step of allowing the WAGs to Germany in the hope that it would take press attention off the players. It backfired, of course.
