What is the going rate these days for the tooth fairy? My son has just lost his first tooth and since I had no change I have had to put a fiver under his pillow. Going to say that since it was his first tooth he got more for it, but was wondering what others give.

£1. Occasionally have had to resort to using a foreign coin or old one when our of change, and then offering to buy it from child for £1.

You sir have seriously sticthed yourself for ever. Have you considered how many teeth your child will lose over the coming years? £1 at most with the tooth fairy having an occasional holiday!!

I posted this a few months back and the general opinion was £1. So this is what we went for. Last month my daughters friend lost a couple of teeth and got £5 each tooth. (what!!!!!) So I got "Mummy are my teeth not as shiny. Why does she like her better! etc etc. But .... still only getting a quid!

The Tooth Fairy in Arundel pays a quid, but my Son's mate lives in Amberley and apparently their one pays £2!

I used to pay a quid a tooth. Wanted to make a necklace out of them but she wouldn't let me.

I got sixpence each for mine. My Mrs got sixpence for the first one but her mum said you only get it for the first one.
