Based on what, exactly? It's football, and on that front they do deserve to go down, the league table doesn't lie. I think he means their fab stadium doesn't deserve to go down, which is naff logic when you think about it.

Of all the big clubs Newcastle IMHO are the ones worthy of the most contempt. Love or loath them the likes of Manure, Chelski and Arsegas do actually win things. Newcastle are a big club in their view but what is the most recent silverware they have won? The Intertoto Cup in 2006 seems the most recent but they were Champions of the old 1st Division - in the 1926/27 Season
