‘The Golden Eagle’ is the 2nd richest horse race in Australia - more prize money than ‘The Melbourne Cup’
Backed in very late from 33’s into 22/1 never looked a hope until about 150m out when it got a dream rails run and survived a long protest (stewards inquiry).
Lake Forest is No 14 and is last of the 3 horses racing in blue (naturally) when they settle down.

Hopefully a good omen for today - Lake Forest was was over 3 times the odds we are to win at Anfield today.

Love the last bit of commentary about the boldness of taking a lightly raced British horse all the way down to Australia to compete for their second richest prize of the season.

The horse is backed in from 33/1 to 22/1 just before the off and storms home.

It's almost like someone a little bit shrewd was involved....

My guess would be a very decent stake if he thought he was getting 33/1 about a c. 20/1 or shorter chance... no surprise if he doubled the £2.6m prize money.
