Players I get, the manager and his assistant, I get it.

Bruno and Roberts are a disgrace, burnt all their bridges here in my opinion. Bruno was here for 10 years, Roberts for a similar amount of time if you include his injury ravaged playing days. The club helped develop them, gave them a platform to prove themselves. And they shaft us like that. Disgraceful, I hope they fail at Chelsea and hope they end up unemployable.

I respect what Potter done here, I do. But taking these two is taking the absolute piss. If I was Tone or Barber I would be livid.

They have totally taken advantage of Tony's good nature in not standing in anyone's way if they're approached. Let them speak to other clubs. Let them see what other clubs offer and perhaps they may decide the grass isn't always greener. This doesn't work, evidently. It's supposedly "counter productive" in refusing permission. IS IT? HOW IS IT, WHEN THESE DISLOYAL WANKERS **** OFF AT THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY?!

Tony needs to re-evaluate this policy, because so far, nobody has shown him the same loyalty he shows his employees. Time to get tough and put your foot down. NO - WE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO PERMISSION TO SPEAK TO OUR STAFF, IF THEY WANT TO SPEAK TO YOU THEY CAN BLOODY WELL KICK UP A FUSS AJD SHOW THE REAL WORLD WHAT THEY ARE REALLY LIKE! AND YOU'LL STILL HAVE TO PAY THE CLUB TO TAKE THEM ANYWAY!!!

BRUNO, ANYTHING YOU DONE HERE IN THE PAST IS DONE, YOU ARE NOW NOTHING TO THIS FANBASE, I HOPE YOUR 5 MINS OF FAME WAS WORTH IT YOU CJTC

You don’t speak for ‘the fanbase’ (thank goodness). Ambitious individuals seek to step up with noted coach (and on higher wages)…..why the hell wouldn’t they take the opportunity? Yes it hurts like hell at the moment, but completely understandable from their perspective.

Is this why we didn`t get our striker in the window ? Potter knew the player would be coming to the club expecting to play under him ! . Hence he made no effort to bring one in .
Aubameyang? Yikes! ............................................. :(

Maybe. But Bruno and Roberts jumping ship is still a hammer blow.

He wouldn't be welcome now.

Yes he would.

We're disappointed about Bruno precisely because we love him but, if he has gone to Chelsea to finish his "football degree" we'd have a ready made Potter II when he does feel it's time who would already be attached to the town. I would welcome him back in those circumstances.

However, it's extremely likely we've already found not just a new top man but a top man who comes with a team. I imagine that's why Tony is so chilled out. I can't say for sure but I imagine Kyle MacAuley had a similar gardening leave clause in his contract as Ashworth.

Why don’t you **** off to your next sad forum. The guy is angry and disappointed for Tony Bloom. You would need to be a fan to understand that and not some weird cuckoo supporter like you are.

I think your getting a bit over exited. If you were paid 15K per week and someone offered you 50K you would be off like a shot. Of course it's disappointing but get real. In work there is no loyalty either way.
You're saying Chelsea have tripled Bruno's wages? I highly doubt it.

And no, when you're already a multi multi millionaire like he is, then no wages probably aren't that important a factor. He would have been paid handsomely to be a coach at Brighton already to live a lifestyle most of us can only dream of.

Something like that, Potter was on 2m, Tuchel 7.5m apparently so triple seems about right across the team. Bruno is intelligent and ambitious, and has worked with Potter for some time……maybe he sees all of that as a great platform to continue learning from a very good coach until he’s ready for his own gig. 100% understand why he’s gone with him (I don’t like it any more than anyone else, but he’d have been mad not to go).

But he is now exposed to CL football, and a larger club environment which would all be attractive in adding to his learning and CV as he progresses to a managerial position (should he want one).

Where we are now as a club I would fully expect that any manager we appoint going forward will bring their own team of trusted assists with them, Gone are the days where Nathan Jones becomes assistant manager just because he can speak Spanish to assist Oscar Garcia. On that basis Bruno may well have been sidelined anyway.

Not disputing any of that. I was replying to a post saying anyone would jump at chance to double or triple your salary. Yes if you were on £20k a year at Asda, but my point was that money (should) be less of a motivation to move for someone who is already filthy rich

It doesn’t work like that, it’s all relative.

You're an idiot.

It's just possible that Bruno might not have wanted the main job here or might not have been considered for it. If that's the case he gets to continue learning under Potter. If he's living here and commuting he could then come back at some point when he feels he's ready and has all his badges.

As for Roberts, what do you think the promotion path for a goalkeeping coach looks like internally? Chelsea represents his chance of a step up. It's very, very, very disappointing but it's certainly understandable.

Or he was offered nearly a million quid a year and so ****ed off at the first opportunity

Bruno going stings, but Potter has clearly engineered the move and persuaded him to go. Out of a mark of respect he could have agreed not to poach or encourage any club employees other than the ones he arrived with to follow him. But he didn’t. Which says a lot.

Looks like that mural can get painted over again.

I just bought a new "el capitan" tee shirt. Not gonna be wearing that in a hurry. :wozza:

Plus they gave us 10 years of service. Do people literally expect people to stay for life?
