Always thought this guy was a bit of a tool. However, he was the guest on Radio 4's Desert Island Discs this week, and it was an excellent listen - he's clearly gone through some really hard times, and it was great to hear about an ex-footballer doing some good for the community he worked in.

Well worth a listen - can be downloaded as a podcast, or just listened to on the iPlayer.

Read his book - one of the best football books ever.
Agreed completely Cadiz, what's amazing is that like George Best (and I'm not comparing them as footballers per se but rather as high profile footballers of their time with serious alcohol addictions) he still managed to put in awesome performances whilst reeling from one binge session to the next.
It's a great read, do yourselves a favour if you've not read it before.....
