Not to keen on adams :nono:

What is going on we release managers with ease and now we are just a starting club for people like adams to fu-k around with.

Christ we are not a small club that gets 3k every week we still get 7k at a tin pot ground in the 2nd division.

It seems to me that we are just a good breeding ground for Quality Managers, and it f***ing pisses me off, that at the end of the day,a contract isnt worth the piece of paper its written on,so whoever we get in to take over, can still walkaway as long as another club can afford the pay off.
So if it was Sven Goran f***ing Erikson or Barry Fry it wouldnt matter two shits,as they can walk anytime!!

If SC does go,then fair play to the man, anyone would want to better themselves, and for more money.I know I would leave my job for better money and anyone on here who says they wouldnt is a liar!

I would have TC as he is the best option around at the moment, and he has quality contacts,
What odds of Keown being down here next year?

Tony Adams does come across as thoughtful and intelligent, and exudes a calm authority (much like Coppell actually). He used to do a regular column (in the Telegraph I think) and it made excellent reading. He certainly talks a good game - I think he'd be worth a punt to see what he could do down here.

Lets face it, there's absolutely no outstanding candidates for the job out there, and Adams is about as good as we could get I think.

Adams also writes for the guardian sometimes and his observations are spot on.
I also respect the guy for what he came through in his life(admittely self-inflicted) and I think he had a great presence as a player, his calm head at the back was missed by arsenal last season and in a way part of the reason they didnt win the title. Plus I reckon he'd be good

In my view Adams would be a bad appointment. He was an excellent player and captain at Arsenal but good players don’t always make good managers. And if he does become a good manager it is likely that it will be sometime in the future.

He would be a bad choice because he has no managerial experience and very few managers have success at the first club they manage.

Why gamble on an unproven manager when Steve Cotterill is looking for a way back into the game?

Not sure about Adams and certainly not sure about Cotterill. We need someone with a decent pedigree and also someone who is going to stay around and not jump ship within a season (like Cotterill has done).

Still hoping that SC stays but if not, Joe Kinnear would probably be my first choice.

I dont fancy any of these much. Adams is unproven and if he is any good will feck off sooner than you can say 'Peter Taylor' Cotterill & Kinear strike me as long ball merchants - not ideal with little Leon up front.

Neither ideal but the best I can think of are Macari (For no other reason than Leon played for him at Huddersfield and seemed to get the best out of him, If my memory serves) and Colin Addison, forest Green manager. Keeps them up year in year out on no money, formally Celta Vigo manager so has a bit of pedigree. Would also be nice to poach a manager for a change as well.

Dont want Cotterill, not impressed by what he done at Sunderland

Dont want Hoddle as he would destroy all the good things this club has had since MA was here.ie Team Spirit.

Dont want Vialli,as he did Fcuk All at Watford.

Looks like Tony Adams then, with Bob Booker showing him the ropes!!

Just imagine the language if Barry Fry came down. Try telling the South Stand to mind its language in that case. Our dear friend in Withdean would really enjoy himself.

Most good managers have been successful at their first club. People are talking about Cotterill (who I wouldn't mind), but his only manager's job was Cheltenham - they just gave him the chance. Adams got Fulham up, Strachan did well at Coventry until his last season (out of 5), Chris Coleman's doing well at Fulham, Vialli did well at Chelsea, and the list grows.

Personally I think Adams would be a fine choice as he has so many contacts in the game

Ive always liked the idea of Adams for Manager - sadly its about the third time this topic has come up in the last two years. I reckon he might like to stay around for a while and do a job, after all he didnt go wandering off from arsenal did he?

and on the arsenal connection, i dont believe they would bring in Tony Adams with a years 2nd Div experience if Wenger did leave.

But look at it this way, even if he did leave after a year, we've not been doing too badly with all these short term managers have we (except hinshelwood of course)

There is no f***ing way Adams would take the job down here-no way!!! Lets face it, its too risky for him, no money no stadium, weve got no chance. He would probably have taken over a team like Rushden when they were non league, a big team in that league, good resources and a good little ground. People are in cooko land on here if they think we would get him
