Tony Adams needs to be DK's no 1 target if Coppell walks. The man is a legend and wanting now to get into management. He has no management track record but if he is 10% as good as being a manager as he was a player and shows the same level of courage, pride, skill and commitment we will have a very rosey future together. Take a chance of him Dick.

Also his own personal triumphs overcoming his demons, shows ths sort of man he is.

I would welcome him at the club with open arms.

And finally anyone who has bedded Caprice has to been shown a lot of respect as well

 .

i posted a Pro Adams thread earlier.

I am firmly in the Tony Adams camp.

He has got more coaching/sports phsycology badges than a 19 year old Scout.

He is also a LOYAL man.

:clap2:

Oh yes - you've got to admire Adams ability to play Adam Chance in Crossroads. But if he came down to the Withdean and started play Meg Richardson in goal, Shuey McPhee up front and Sandy Richardson as the playmaker, I'd say Oi, Adams, NO! JUST BECAUSE YOU'VE PLAYED A CHANCER ON TV, DON'T COME DOWN HERE AND TAKE A CHANCE ON US.

THEN I'D GIVE HIM A SLAP.

AND I'D HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO FRANK!

I posted this earlier as well. I think he'd be a top choice

Especially as he's taken extra training/courses because he wasn't satisfied with his level of skills.

Steve Bruce had no experience and he's doing OK-but not exactly Mr Loyal-maybe not such a good example:shootself

The other Adams took Fulham up in his first job so it's not always a bad thing. I'd rather see Tony Adams than Hoddle (no chance), Gregory (f*** off), Danny Wilson (no chance and not that good anyway).

Whoever comes won't stay, if they are any good, because all football managers look to the short term and Falmer won't be built, if it's approved, for at least 4 years.

Bring on Adams - another high profile manager

Adams would be an interesting and potentially exciting gamble, but I would like to see a longer list of candidates. My main concern with him would be whether he saw this as genuine opportunity or just some glorified job training scheme

Most importantly I want someone who has got the balls to actually want this job, and having accepted the job is not going to run away at the first opportunity squealing about how we have got no money and we don't yet have a shiny new stadium! If you can't work with us then don't bother applying in the first place.

yeah, get Adams, then, in a year's time, sit and watch as managerless Arsenal (Wenger having been finally committed to St Dunstans after claiming persistently for 10 years that he couldn't see any incidents) come and take him off our hands.

We need to have some forward planning, in future we should have a list ready- this guy can be our manager for 2004, another one ready for 2005, another one for 2006 etc.

There is a precedent. Once before a manger left us to move on to bigger things. We took a chance on an ex-player who'd had a glittering playing career but had absolutely no management experience. We were his first job. Under him we immediately got promoted from the old Div 3 (the same level as we are now), the following season we missed out on promotion to the top flight by one place and the season after that we reached the Top Division.

It was Alan Mullery for those who hadn't guessed. And yes, I do think we could do a lot worse than Adams.

more importantly , i think his contacts in the game would be useful...loan players would want to come here and play for him ...can just imagine it .."morning arsene need a striker for a couple of months any chance of dennis comming down ..promise we wont fly to any away games "

The plusses with Adams probably outweigh the minuses. His two biggest strengths are also our two biggest requirements: leadership qualities and full contacts book.

With regard to the latter he'd be able to attract a few old pro mates nearing the end of their careers, a few youngsters, plus he'd command respect from the current squad.
