Absolute classic Eastenders and I laughed all the way through it. Even the ending was easy to spot what with an angry Janine driving round in a red sports car, my wife said "you just know it's going to end with her running over Danielle". Lazy storyline as well as it means they don't have to deal with the complex changed relationship between mother and daughter (which they'd already done before with that ugly munter and the bird who became wonderwoman).

Unless of course Danielle survives? Probably not as it will be far easier to show a few episodes of grief before everybody magically gets over it and we can deal with the next storyline.

Dreadful, dreadful programme.
It depresses the shit out of me to have that miserable PAP pumped into my living room almost every frigging night. Shrieking harridans, hideous slags, fat old munters, greasy skanks. Its a tedious slab of dull, grey MISERY delivered to the nation regular as clockwork. And the fact I'm paying for it makes me want to SPEW.

Good early morning rant (I didn't see the program but don't need to after this very good precis)

Still in Brighton
i caught the last 15minutes at work by accident (i'll get my excuses in early) and was amazed at how far the bbc has fallen. agree that eastenders seems to revel in storylines of utter misery but they are so obvious and badly written that is beyond a joke - or is it a parody of itself? The Day Today team couldn't do it better. how these people are not fired immediately is beyond me. enough to make me agree for the first time that the licence fee should be revoked!

l ...Archie is really Ronnies dad ...
I must have missed that, I thought he always was her dad on account of her being Roxy's sister? And Archie was always referred to as her dad?

So what's next then, Peggy is Mintys mum?... Pat & Charlie are twins?... Stacey slopes for a shag with me?

well, don't watch it then.

and, to keep my post count down, here's my response to your predicted response:

well, slap her then. or leave her. or kill her.

I loved it - it had everything an Eastenders Special should have had, minus a last minute Grant/Den/Roly comeback. Could only have been better if Phil had made good his promise of beating the truth out of Archie.

Tellytastic, IMHO.

Why can't they just kill off JANINE!

Do us all a favour shes the reason why they probably lost 20% of viewings.

The whole Barry thing and Sharon/Tommy dying as a hero just pissed me off.

Then the dirty Den story just was bloody pathetic.
