Joao's goal yesterday was the 100th we have scored against the 'Big 6' since we stepped up to the Prem in 91 games. During this period we are the only team to have scored 100 goals against this group. We are 3rd in the 'table' in terms of results against the 6 based on points per game but Ipswich can be discounted really based on having only played 6 matches so far compared to our 91. Wolves surprisingly have the best ppp from teams with at least a near comparable record of games played (78).
Interestingly this season, (mainly due to City, Utd and Spurs' demise, with regards to results against the 'Other 14') sees the best win % by the other teams in the Division with 24.1% of the 87 games played ending up with wins for the rest of us. This is the biggest % of wins over the 7.5 seasons we have graced the top table, the best being the 2022-23 season which saw 35 wins from the 168 games (20.8%). This was the only other time wins topped the 20% mark. I can only see this % getting bigger over the rest of the season as the gap seems to be closing with regards to outcomes against the Big 6 which makes the results against the 'minnows' all the more important, something we know we are not very good at!
