Is Gavin Ward. If that doesn't ring any bells then do you remember the ref who's 31 but looks like a 13-year-old boy (or maybe girl)? That's him.

Fingers crossed, because he was awful the last couple of times he's been at Withdean. Still if D'Urso can have an OK game-I didn't see it but that's what I was told- then there must be hope.

We'll see.

The name rings bells but can't picture him.

My favourite ref for sheer comedy value is the one who regularly sends off TWO opposition players at the Withdean. He did it once against Gillingham and also against Walsall. All but one were straight reds and were highly doubtful to say the least. Don't remember his name though.

This is the chap that abandoned Plymouth v Barnsley on Saturday after 58 minutes with Barnsley leading 4-1... Bet that went down well in South Yorkshire!

We have had some decent refs in recent games... kept the game moving, allowed a certain leverl of physical contact, made quick and clear decisions.

Gavin Ward was just dire. Made inconsistent and poor decisions against both teams, booked 7 players in a game with hardly a single dangerous tackle, spent massive amounts of time lecturing players for minor incidents, resorted to lengthy discussions with linesman and still got the decisions wrong.

It was a decent game of football last night, even though we lost (and that was nothing to do with the referee)... this was despite a very poor referee, but it could have been so much more enjoyable without his self-important, and inconsistent performance.

I really hope we don't see him again - refs like that spoil the enjoyment of watching football

And listed as being from 'Surrey', very north Surrey, going on last night's favouritism.

jumped up little squirt wasnt he? God, how do these tossers get the job is beyond me, my 11 yr old has had some better youth refs referee their games than him last night. You could tell that even the linesman wanted to run on the pitch, whack him one and take his whistle and cards off him for being so blind and up his own arse, let alone us fans.
