From my Spanish Real Madrid fan friend who watches La Liga like some here watch the prem.

"He's a bit mediocre. Decent finisher but painfully slow, won't work hard, won't chase anything that isn't played within a few feet of him."

Much like an armchair Chelsea fan would describe a striker in a relegated Premier League team then? But then we are not expecting a player who would be first choice for Madrid

i'd imagine our standards are slightly different from real madrid

I wouldn't say that, he's been to the Bernabeu more times than you could imagine. Had a season ticket from 10-17 until he moved here and still watches it all the time, considering he spends a lot of time there still.

I was just passing it on, anyway.

Apologies it was your comment he watches La Liga like some watch the Premier that I then interpreted as armchair fan.

Just has another look at the youtube video of the goals he scored for Mallorca in 2012/13 and he scored 11.

3 with his left foot
6 with his head
3 with his right foot

That's very balanced. When was the last time we had such a balanced 2 footed player? Was Ulloa able to score with both feet?

CMS was pretty balanced too. Useless with his left, useless with his right and couldn't head a ball. His re-wteets however were world class.

And he had (at times) lovely hair.

Anyone else have a really good feeling about this guy, the ulloa replacement maybe

Looking at his aerial ability, particularly the way he attacks crosses, I think that he and Baldock - who we definitely didn't see the best of last year - will be a good partnership.

See, I'm not that hard to please, just show some ambition with the players and I'm as happy as a sand boy. We are not quite there yet though
We're nowhere nearly there. But I wouldn't be moaning even if we hadn't made signings this week, as there's still time.

Not me. We've got him, Baldock and O'Grady, but I'm still being greedy and hoping for another that's even better.

He seems to have recently got over a bad injury, so fingers crossed. Looking decent since recovering.

Really? In his last four games he has played 11 minutes in a 3-2 defeat; 16 minutes in a 2-1 defeat; 14 minutes in a 2-1 defeat and 30 minutes in a 2-2 draw.

I'm not sure I'd describe that as "looking decent since recovering"

This will definitely catch on and we will all have a lovely time singing it in harmony, fuelled by lukewarm pints of Fosters pish
