I am against censorship very much and people being able to express their imagination and art. I am against film censorship especially but I believe on this occassion The Human Centipede may have gone to far.

Its not so much the gore and mutilation as it is meant to be tame compared with the recent spate of sick porn torture films. It is the whole concept which to me is an insult to Humanity. The whole concept is far beyond any amount of torture and gore.

It is a degredation of Humanity and Women in particular. Tom Six may have come out with an " original " idea , although its idea was born on youtube with a short film from someone else but he must be mentality ill to make this and I would suggest anyone that " enjoys " it needs to make an appointment with their GP pronto.

For those who do now know the concept it is 3 adults being drugged , operated on and joined together mouth to Anus, man at the front and 2 Women behind. The Man passes his digestive waste down to 2 and so on which apparently when it happens the first time is a key moment for the Mad Doctor who performed this operation. The worrying thing is some sicko may try and carry this out or at least mutilate and do things to Animals as in the film he tried in on 3 Dogs first who died.

There is a raging debate on imdb and if you type Tom Six on facebook he is on his profile getting abuse and death threats for making it.

It has got a " general " release although I cannot see it being shown at your local family friendly multiplex anytime soon.

He is already making - The Human Centipede 2 - Full sequence after the success and notoriety of The First Sequence.

Do you plan to see this and what is your view on film censorship ?.

I have gone fence. The first time I think a film and its concepts may have over stepped the mark and is an insult to Humanity without having any statement to make.

This film is absolutely ridiculous, quite eerie in a way. People should be allowed to watch it though as there definately is worse films for weirdness/sickness values.

It's a waste of time thinking that the BBFC is the moral compass of this country...

A 'friend' downloaded this from btjunkie in 15 mins max...

Played using vlc or mpstar 1 minute later...

Any kid of any age could do this while their parents were downstairs watching telly!!

btw, my mate says the film isnt overly shocking in terms of actual graphic content but, like the better horrors, leaves it to the imagination though the scenes of the three joined together are tough to watch...

Now if you are talking about gruesome horror, stuff like Cannibal Holocaust/Cannibal Ferox from the 70s make this stuff look like cbbcs

The thing is that like it or loath it'll become a cult classic. This is mild given that 'Snuff' movies are out there.

So, now we've reached your line censorship should be ok in these circumstances?

All those films in the past you have felt ok with, but that other people have felt was an affront to human decency were ok, and censorship was bad. Now someone has reached your now there's an argument for it?

Isn't that hypocritical or double standards? Censorship of films you're fine with is bad, regardless of how many and who it offends; censorship of films you're not ok with is good, regardless of how many and who are fine with it?

My opinion on this is the same as with all controversial films. If the concept/film offends you, don't watch it.

Of course, my opinion may change when a film crosses my limits

Yeah i'm gonna see it. It's ultimately absurd, and therefore well worth a viewing. I don't imagine it to have any message at its heart, and just wishes to ludicrously revolt. Like any genre (apart from the musical), there'll be good and bad within and i hope for this to badly good.

It's a fantastically twisted idea, but I don't see how it's much different from any film about serial killers or whatever, I don't see why this film is beyond the pale and should be censored over any other horror film.
