lets be honest the only thing that cause any excitement the whole afternoon was Fraser being sent off and their penalty, its not been a proper afternoon out without being able to slag off and rant the ref and opposition, pissed me off when they moved the away bench from G/H Block as I can't slag off the opposition manager anymore now

That is complete bollocks.

Sorry.

A couple of very classy corners. Some superb tackles. Some excellent work coming forward. And good balls into the box.

A complete contrast to the dodgy hoofer on the other side of the park.

I am so pleased that you are well up on the planning of a new stadium because your assesment of El Abd is way off. I do not think that he missed a tackle, if he had a fault it was that he was hitting balls into the box when on a number of accassions he would have done better to have pushed them down the line, had somebody run down there.

Our basic problem was that our final ball into the box was poor and nobody was making any runs or movement to create space in the box.

I think that Cox is best suited to the right side of midfield rather than the left and hopefully if Bakyogo gets fit he will fill the left side with Bertin as the holding midfielder and Hammond supporting the strikers.
Perhaps a case of JR to be on the bench.

Flinders 7. Good throwing. Didn't do anything wrong.
ElAbd 7. One of his better games at RB.
O'Cereal 6. Much better than at RB, but not up to Lynch's level.
Butters 6. Not as commanding as usual. Outjumped on a few ocasions.
Mayo 7. Some of his passing in the first half was poor, but overall a fairly good game.
Ward 6. A luxury player? Clearly very skillfull, but gives the ball away far too often. Infuriating!
Bertin 8. MOM. Great first half, faded a bit in the second. Class player.
Hammond 7. Good game overall, but loses a point for the penalty. Needless tackle.
Cox 5. Poor.
Savage 6. Average game.
Gatting 5. One or two nice touches, but terrible lack of pace.

Subs:
Revell 6. Maybe needs time to develop a partnership with Bas.
Fraser 5. Really didn't contribute much except one woeful cross and the red card (undeserved in my opinion).
Elder 5. Did nothing of note.

Wilkins 5. No argument with the starting line-up presuming he thought Revell not ready for 90 mins, but wrong decisions on the bench. Robinson and Hart should have been there.

Revell is able to run ok but I noticed he couldn't turn like he used to. I suspect his ankle is still heavily strapped to prevent any occurence of the torn ligaments.

Flinders 6 - not a great deal to do
El Abd 5 6 - distribution poor
Butters 7 - solid again
O'Ceaurill 7 - much more comfortable at centre back
Mayo 7 - played well. Wish he's stop taking the corners though - his delivery from these was very poor
Bertin 7 - played well throughout
Ward 4 - couple of flashes of his ability but gave away possession time and time again. Far too selfish at the mo.
Hammond 6 - played ok
Cox 5 - sponsors man of the match
:lolol: what has happened to his final ball?
Savage 7 - not as effective as recently but worked hard.
Gatting 5 - didn't see much of the ball.

Subs:

Revell 6 - looking sharper with each game.
Elder 5 - not really enough time but no great impact
Fraser 4 - I am struggling to understand his regular inclusion and what he actually brings to the team.

Time to get Bertin signed up on a longer contract ...he is a class above this standard and will no doubt play at a higher level ....longer contract = nice fee when he moves on

IMO Hammond, Bertin and to a lesser extent O'Ceaurill were the only 3 who really come out of the game with a lot of Credit.

Perhaps a game too far overthe past 10 days or so?

Thought El Abd did OK, Mayo was hoofing the ball diagonally across the pitch - which we no doubt had been told to do. Looks ok when it goes near one of our players but hopless when it doesn't.

Thoiught Ward and Gatting were poor - how many times did Ward give the ball away - Gatting's hold up play is getting better but he has no pace.

Cox was ok first half, went missing in the second.

Their goal came at a bad time - HT 0-0 would have suited us - we never really looked like scoring after that.

Poor game all round - we'll see Bristol City again next year - Forest. Yeovil, and Scunny all far better.
