Todorov out for season

>
Svetoslav Todorov bagged 26 goals last season
Portsmouth striker Svetoslav Todorov has been ruled out for the season after
suffering a knee injury in training.

The Bulgarian international, last season's top scorer with 26 goals,
collapsed during a routine training game at Portsmouth's Wellington Sports
Ground training centre on Thursday.

Todorov caught his studs in the ground and was prostrate for fully 10
minutes before being stretchered off.

The striker has damaged ligaments in his knee and faces a long spell on the
sidelines.

Manager Harry Redknapp, who brought Todorov with him from West Ham to
Fratton Park, told BBC Radio 5 Live his striker will be out of action for
"at least a season".

Redknapp said: "It is just what we didn't need at this stage with such a
thin squad."

Todorov's injury means young Nigerian striker Yakubu Ayegbeni could get an
extended run in the Pompey side.

according to BBC site ( H Redknapp says)

I suppose we should be sad for our South Coast Cousins, or there again perhaps we should laugh histerically at the South Coast Scum

now, now, now...

wishing Pompey a terrible time is, indeed, a perfectly acceptable (even healthy and important) position to take, but taking glee in a player's potentially career-threatening injury is a different matter altogether.

Hes one of their better players:nono: i'm sooooo upset:lolol:

Saw him play pre-season vs Kilmarnock. Looked a bit poor compared to last season. Unlike Iyegbeni, who will be replacing Todorov as first-choice. He looked very good indeed - so don't celebrate too soon!

Great news – should really help their survival bid.

Just a shame that Sheringham scored yesterday, and Yakubu looked alright too. But I guess when one of those two get injured then
