Was completly gutless and more worried about getting booed by a big crowd than getting the decisions right, Mellor and Sedgewick should both have been sent off!! Why is it we get players sent of left right and centre for very soft incidents and blatent ones like that against dont!!?? Referees at this level are a joke!

Not to take away from the fact we werent clinical or urgent enough today and seemed a bit toothless going forward, but other than that its clear to see were nt far away from being a very decent side at this level 3 more players should do it I think.

Kebab was shoved by Fatty Mellor and crumpled like he had been bitch slapped , a yellow not a red card. Sedgewick went into a 50/50 with a two footed lunge which was a certain red but the ref bottled it. 2 good penalty shouts , one of which was nailed on.

did appear that sedgewick got the ball though, the fact that it was two footed warranted the yellow card ...agree about the pens though

The El-Abd shove was just the same as Greer last week who also fell as though he'd been shot. Sedgewick certainly should have seen red. Murray dived but the Bennett pen shout was nailed on.

Muzza did dive but I think he did so because there was contact , Benno was just hacked down and the ref had a perfect view of it.

Interesting and conflicting views from Wednesday fans here.

The controversial flashpoints of todays game - Owlstalk

After reading this i have noticed that alot of their fans are completely biased. Their opinions on the two footed challenge are just ridiculous. They think because a player wins the ball it doesent matter how dangerously he goes in. Those who argue that it was a fair challenge truely need their head checking, if it was the other way round they would be going mental about it.

In fairness, that isn't exclusive to wednesday fans, some of our fans have made that argument (I remember Slade considered challenging El Abd's red card last year on the basis Slade thought El Abd got the ball), and it is a misconception that is perpetuated by so called expert analysts on tv footie shows (Andy Grey, Chris Kamara, I'm look at you).

We need Steve Claridge to tell us if it was a red card or not.

The ref was a f***ing disgrace today. Two red cards they should have had and two pens we should have had. f*** a striker its a ref we need to buy. Fuming.

I'm just waiting for NSCs usual 'try and be different' brigade to pop up and suggest neither were reds or pens... And maybe say it hasn't cost us a point / 3 points - much like they did last week...

By the sounds of it we've had 2 inept refs who have potentially cost us 5 points the last 2 games. And it's not often I say cheesy NSC lines BUT - FACT!

I guess I'll be that guy. Partially. I'm not commenting on today's game, but to say the ref cost us two points last week is grasping at straws, imo. Greer deserved to go. So we can't blame him for taking us down to 10 men. With one minute to go for three points it was the actions of ankergren and to a lesser extent, elphick, that cost us that goal (along with some lightweight finishing from smith, and wayward finishing from murray and calderon).

 I spose i was asking for someone to say something! Let's not go over last wk again - the fact was it shouldn't have been a pen that's hat I was getting at - irrelevent of the keeper error...

No, it should't have been a pen, but when you're determining who is to blame for the two points lost last week, the keeper error is entirely relevant.

This week I've not seen the incidents, so can only go on reports/commentary, but it certainly seemed like the ref bottled it.

We lost = Referee was shit
Won won (Swindon) = It was all about how good we were.

The referee was rubbish at Swindon, but we scored 2 good goals and he could nothing about them. Using the referee as an excuse is poor and lazy. We're lacking a cutting edge in attack.

 cheers for proving my point - you are usually one of the ones who like to try and point out a reality to Albion fans that isn't there. There's looking at things through blue and white specs and then there's the complete opposite which some people on here do.

And yes I thought the ref and Swindon was poor and am well aware of that but we won so and there werent any game changing decisions to make really...

PS - You are right it does sound we had a lack of creativity up front. In all fairness we all new that anyway before today. With 3 key players out and none of the '4' we want to sign our squad was in THEORY 7 players short today. There's 46 games tho so it will hopefully be OK.
