Todays performance

From liistening to the radio the impression I got was pretty positive. They're second from top by a mile so I don't think we could have expected a good result. But it seemed that everyone had a good game. Frutos sounded dangerous and gets better each game. Chippy was positive. CKR scored and Gatting came on and was straight away in the thick of it. FDM made some good stops. Joel Lynch and El Abd solid.
Its always shit to lose but at least the effort was there and if we keep that amount of effort up we'll get a few good results and stay up.
So unlucky lads but well done for giving it you're all.

With the exception of the second goal the defense looked pretty solid throughout, the first goal was a good move by Sheffield Utd and the third they caught us on the break as we pushed up trying to get a goal.

Kazim-Richards looked really good when he came on I thought. He looked really hungry for tha ball.

The biggest problem I could see was that we never seemed to have any width on the right hand side with Carole wandering all over the pitch.

I do not wish to sound a defeatist but we now have only 16 games left to muster a minimum of 23 points. It is all well and good to play well but the result is the most important thing at the moment.

I hope that we play absolute shit and get 8 x 1 - 0 wins

For some obscure reason, you revel in this club suffering. You are a very strange man. You never post when we win and say how well we played. Yet you post this when we lose to a very good team. :nono:

One good thing is that our relegation rivals didn't have a good afternoon either, and have been having similar results to us recently. I wonder if the "magic 50 points" will apply this season?

Let's be positive, if Leicester, Millwall and Crewe mirror our results for the rest of the season we will stay up...

Actually, I just went and looked at the stats for this point last season. It's mildly depressing.....

but I'm not one for navel gazing so let's just get behind the team. I mean 3 points from 6 off of two teams near the top of table you'd have to say yes to.

All we have to do is repeat or better the teams below us results. If we do that we are safe, and i can't see Crewe or Millwall turning it around at this stage. Also if Leicester don't sack their manager, their down for sure too.

Dead right, we have every chance of maintaining the two point gap between us and the bottom three, it may be stating the bleeding obvious but one of them has to do better than us! I think we've got a good chance, if we were good enough to beat Leeds last week we can certainly pick up points from the teams below them

The reason that I do not post when we win, as you say, is because I expect that every week. So to do it wouldn't in my mind be astounding although we have only done it 6 times so far this season.

What annoys me is that it is plain for all to see that this squad needs improving but we are still mucking about looking at players to buy and then get the answer there is no money available.

The players that are within our price bracket whatever that may be should have beensorted out ages ago and the final deal be done during the transfer window not as is happening 'still looking'.

I get slated because I have distinct views on the duty of the Chairman and one of these duties it to provide his employees (MM) with the tools to do his job properly (players). How he does this, especially in our financial situation, is his problem not mine or the 5,000 hard core supporters.

We cannot continually hide behind the' legal costs of Falmer' as an excuse for our continued march towards relegation subject to the inadequacies of other teams around us, this may well be a justifiable reason for our financial position but is nopt the sole reason for our poor results.

Having said that I didnt expect to win today but the unexpected results are the onjes that keep you up or send you down e.g Millwall at home.

Some salient points re money/Falmer/team strengthening not a whinge in my view. Wasn't surprised by today, but absolutely gutted by Millwall defeat.

Surely some millionaire out there is prepared to dip into his pockets and buy us some players. A stake in a club which is building a new stadium has got to attract someone.

It isn't all 100% certain yet because of LDC once that problem is out of the way I think that there wil be. It was suggested that the Ruski chose and bought Portmouth over us because of this hiccup.

There was also the Maradonna rumour. There will be more and somebody will come along. Just be patient but in the meantime let us PLEASE win some games and get some points before its too late to avoid relegation.

I thought we looked pretty comfortable in the first half and when we worked the ball (rather than lumping it over the top) we looked quite dangrous. Thought their first goal was a good move and I also thought the lads heads dropped when it went in - which is obviously disappointing. At 3-0 with 15 to go I feared the worst for a real hiding but CKR looked lively and a good finish. United area good team but will go nowhere in the Prem.

They would be to worried about getting estimates for the repairs to their' fire damaged headquarters'.

What is the solution to our problems Ernest it is not suifficient to just say sack Magoo or Dick Tight. Give us an insight into a possible solution as you see it.
