it wasnt broke in the good old days, it was only when Manchester United wanted to try and emulate Liverpool in Europe that penalties were brought in as the poor dears had to play to much.

I can remember a classic Liverpool v Arsenal cup match which went on for three games I think in the 80's, when footballers were men.
