Scenario:
On the bus on the way to work this morning, a young female got on and sat down on one of those seats that flip up automatically when you stand up. Just as she sat down, she dropped her change. As she leant forward to pick it up, her seat flipped up, she didn't realise and when she went to sit down, she ended up on her arse on the floor. She didn't get hurt.

My reaction:
Nearly pissed myself laughing

Passengers reaction:
I got some really filthy looks from other passengers as one or two helped her up

Was I right to laugh ?

Not only would I expect to laugh, but also to get a good eyeful of crotch as her legs were splayed helplessly for those oh-so-precious few seconds...

Yes. I also laugh at old people and men in suits slipping on ice which makes me a BAD person.

BAG and I nearly wet ourselves walking along *whisper* Snakey Lane to the station the other week (look we were late OK?).

Some guy was running for the train and slipped in the mud. It was a real double twist with a somersault and triple salko moment.

:lolol:

Absolutely!!

Whether we care to admit it or not, there is rarely anything quite as funny as another person's (minor) misfortune.

I've actually done the same thing myself on a London bus, got up to get off, but realised that I was at the wrong stop. Sat down again, seat had flipped up, I ended up on my arse in front of the whole bus.

Thing is, I didn't mind people laughing, cos I'd have done the same. I just turned round, thanked them for their appreciation and did a little bow. A couple of people actually clapped.

Of course you should laugh. If you had fell on your arse, everyone would have laughed at you. I know I would.
If you laugh at other people's misfortunes then the world becomes a better place.

When on the way back from holiday this year, somewhere in deepest darkest london, we were waiting to get on the escalator to go up to the station. there was an (oldish)lady with her family going up hte escalator with a suitcase, sure enough, she tumbled over backwards taking her daughter and all suitcases with her. Iwas a good citizen and pressed the emergency stop button and checked she was ok (which she was) I walked away wetting myself as well :nono:

Same thing happened to me once, only as I fell I dropped a folder containing loads of paperwork which sprayed all down the aisle, as if falling flat on my arse wasn't bad enough, I had to crawl around on my hands and knees helplessly trying to pick everything up from underneath peoples feet on a packed bus. If anyone had dared laugh at me I think I woulda given them a right hander :lolol:

It's natural to laugh. We are all victims of such scenarios ourselves. People should stop taking themselves so seriously and laugh when something is funny.

i agree i fell down the stairs at the katarina in brighton marina on my 19th birthday actually slid down the whole stair case on my arse, the whole pub downstairs had full view up my skirt. my boyf was horrified. he got to the bottom to help me up and didn't know whether to laugh or act serious however one look at his smirking face and i burst in laughter myself as soon as i laughed everyone esle in the pub did and i had a few people come up and speak to me when i was at the bar.

laughter is a cure for a lot of things it also helps break the ice in some scenerios

As long as nobody is hurt of course its fine to laugh - I would have!!

We used to piss ourselves laughing when my grandma sat down as every time she did a fart escaped quite loudly  - she was losing control of her muscles - she thought it was funny and so did we!!

A few years ago, I was on a 2 day course near Victoria. There was snow and Ice all over the roads and pavements.

At the end of the first day I walked back to the station with another guy (who was on the course) who was in a suit and in his 40s.

His shoes were not meant for icy pavements. They had no grip at all. He fell over several times. Not quickly but slowly as his arms and legs were flailing all over the place as he tried to keep his balance. Each time he'd eventually go down. I did my best to help but the fact that he didn't smile made it even funnier for me!

I was trying to conceal my laughter so much, I nearly did myself an injury. My kids still laugh today, when I go through the motions of this guy floundering in the snow.

He wasn't hurt - just his dignity.

I'm having a little chuckle now just thinking of it!

Was in a pub that had a door that opens both ways so if you let it go it will swing through. An old lady pulled open the door and stepped in, she stopped in the doorway to look for her friends and the door swung back and smacked her in the back. It was the funniest thing i have seen in ages! :lolol: She wasnt hurt and didn't fall over but if she had I would have helped her up but pissing myself at the same time! :lolol:

this is why " "You've been framed " is so popular.

Boring anecdote time

Playing cricket once at Tunbridge Wells, I smacked this ball straight over the boundry into some tennis courts and this womam was just about to serve...she lifted her racket and the ball miraculously hit the racket out of her hands, whacked her partner on the arse and the two on the other side of the net were lying on the ground pissing themselves.

Playing Golf once, we were on this very high "raised tee". One of our party was not playing, but he was just taking the piss all the way round when we played a duff shot. Anyway, the bank from this tee led down to a lake about 30 ft below. I was on the tee...addressed the ball...took a swing and thrashed it magestically about 2 yards. He keeled over in laughter and walked backwards...straight over the edge...he rolled down the bank and I just got there as he fell head face into the lake. We called it a day then as none of us could hold a club after that
