I gave an impassioned (i.e. drunken) solo rendition of that to the Mound Stand after a twat from Burnley (or somewhere similar) started up "Can you hear the Paki's sing?"....

bloody hell a real blast from the past, I'd forgotten all about that one!

Could be, but then it doesn't rhyme. This is early '70s when I was still in the chicken run (aged 10-ish)!

thats what me & my mates used to sing, because thats what we thought everybody else was singing. It almost rhymes & we weren't going to argue with several thousand north standers

This was the era when if the boot boys in the North got bored they would run round the back of the West stand to confront the away fans who tended to congreagte in the south (pre-segregation). If somebody scored late on there was generally trouble in the south.

I remember Millwall at home first game of the season, pouring with rain, we came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. This was F-troop era. They were not happy!

what happened to all the old chants? we used to be able to go through the whole 90 minutes hardly using the same one more than once ,now there seems to be a repertoire of about 3 with that f***ing funereal Albioooon albiooon dirge about the worst of the lot. No wonder the atmosphere is shite.

..... agreed, they havnt got a clue these days, although it usually perks up a bit for the big away games, when some of the 'old boys' of the late 70's and early '80s get involved.

Worst of all for me, is the way they have killed GOSBTS, what the fook are they trying to do with all that preamble before starting, all it does is put everyone in a key they couldnt possibly hope to match unless they were auditioning for the westminster cathederal Boys choir.

Campaign now..... get some of the older songs resurrected, and I mean songs, not fookin chants of the sort of things that wouldnt be out of place on an infant school playground.....

rant over.............. for now.

when did the away fans congregate in the south???....... never seen that happen, the only fans in the south were usually the Bosun boys.... no one ever messed with them.... ( except West ham once).... but they got bounced out eventually.

"You're going home in a f***ing ambulance" I believe.

"Bring on the coffin"

and "You're going home in a wooden coffin"?
