I agree. My understanding was that it was not Knight's intention to part company with Adams when they had that meeting the Friday before the Millwall game. However, what does seem clear is that Knight could not give Adams the backing of the rest of the board suggesting he only had a few games left before Knight would succumb to the other board members pressure and obviously Adams didn't like this. They then had to agree to the mutual consent outcome. It is far from ideal but equally was not in anyones plans.

MA's position had become impossible by then so nobody could have expected him to carry on.

It was a gutless reaction of DK to go to that meeting without a clear motive and option it is either this or this.

The problem stems from DK/the board/whoever put too much faith in getting to Wembley for the Piss Pot Trophy and at the time letting our league 1 status slip by.

It is so obvious that even Stevie Wonder could see it that our major problem rested with the players that we bought into the club by Adams and Co. Everybody expected another Carpenter Morgan Watson or Oatway but what we got was no better than we already had.

The version of the story that I heard was that Tony Bloom went to Luton, was appalled at what he saw, and the axe fell. If we'd have won the penalty shoot-out, Adams would no doubt have survived.

It's all about how the cards fall.
I sincerely hope that isn't true but I'm afraid it's all too believable. No wonder we're in such a mess when the club is seemingly run by some lunatic playboy who flies in and makes decisions based on personal whims.
