Timing of Adams sacking.....

I was not a great supporter of Adams second time around - although I was not one of those calling for his head.

Now I can understand why he went - but the timing was ridiculous. If we were going to sack the manager the time should have been before christmas.
A new manager could then have brought in his signings.

Dean Wilkins achievements last year now look miraculous - he half rebuilt our team last january and we still finished 7th.

We have had our worst form of the year since adams went ! Sacking before northampton crewe and orient has ultimately beeen our downfall. (and cost us a lot of money that could have been invested in the team).

I understand that it was bloom who wanted to get rid of adams - but the delay was down to Knight. Ultimately it is the board that has cost us this year - not the players.:nono:

We should have sacked him the day Danny Wilson left Hartlepool and brought in a manager who would entertain us again. God it's been years since the Albion were regularly entertaining to watch

I am convinced that if Adams were still manager we would NOT have lost 4 out of the last 5.

We should have either sacked him earlier, and with a decent replacement lined up, or not at all.

The board has f***ed up royally.

Totally agree !

Boxing day, his substitutions that day were shocking and thats when I really started to loose patience. In hindsight that was probably the better time to get rid but at the time it did seem slightly premature.

Should never have sacked Wilkins.

Fairplay to DK for all he's done for the club, but he has really, really f***ed up the last few seasons.

The players aren't completely blameless though. If more than 2 or 3 players gave a shit about the club, they'd actually be fighting and not just accepting relegation.

What I don't understand is why the Luton game was the be all and end all, when really it was not that important, and not as if we'd done anything worthwhile to get there, or would have done anything worthwhile if we'd won. The board sat on their hands for far too long, if they'd admitted their mistake sooner (or better yet never made the supremely wrongheaded decision in the first place) we wouldn't be down.

MA should have gone either before the January window or left to see the season out. A gutless reaction from the board has put us in severe danger of relegation.

i partially agree. but we'd still be in relegation. fact is Adams was given far too long when it was evident he has lost whatever he had last time round.

Can I just remind everyone that he was in fact not sacked. Thank you.

Given our form all season, I don't believe anyone can say that with confidence.
