Time to deal with Israel?

A Muslim point of view for you.

Israel has as always hugely overreacted and has been egged on by the US so that both countries can realise their own agendas.

HOWEVER..... the real criminals are Hizbollah. Everyone in the Arab World knows that the Israelis over react to each attack (unlike the Paslestinians who had to rely on kids throwing stones in the eighties). Therefore Hizbollah had every right to know that Sunný families and chidren (Hizbollah is a Shia organisation) would be targetted and killed. And they didn't give a damn.

Israel have to be removed from Lebanon but Hizbollah must be stopped... preferably by the Arab nations who stop blaming those outside the Muslim community and refuse to look within to those who gave all Muslims a bad name.

Israel is also surrounded by enemies bent on her destruction.

Countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt have a vested interest in the war, countries who do not want to see a nuclear armed Iran dominant in the area. Because obviously they've been up in arms over the war, haven't they.

Hizbollah has basically hijacked Lebanon and are launching attacks from populated areas, from old people's homes etc etc. Imagine if we were at war with Scotland and they kept bombing the north, attacking places like Carlisle and Newcastle. You can't give in to these terrorists. Yes mistakes have unfortunately been made but this happens in war. And this is a war we'd better hope the Israelis don't lose.

Israel is tin pot you say? What a fool you are and how little you know.

So if we were at war with for an example a terrorist organisation in Scotland. Would we bomb civilian areas from the air? Would be blow up power stations? Would we bomb bridges, roads and airports?
The UK was at war for three decades with Irish Republican Terrorists. They mounted operations from out neighbour the Republic of Ireland. Yet I don't recall the RAF bombing Dublin airport, power stations, bridges roads and civillian reas in the Republic of Ireland, do you?

Don't think that's a very fair comparison, Southover Street. If Scotland had allowed itself to be over-run by Al-Qaeda and had turned a blind eye to them importing 30,000 missiles to Edinburgh for the specific purpose of firing them at Leeds (not such a bad idea, I suppose) AND Al-Qaeda needed to transport them to Berwick to get an accurate shot at Leeds ... after the first thousand or so missiles had hit us, I can see the sense of trying to bomb the stockpiles in Edinburgh, destroying the access routes to Berwick and making life a misery for the Scots in the hope of persuading them to throw out Al Qaeda.

Two things:

1: They generally, indeed almost solely, operated from Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK.
2: I thinkbombing city shopping streets, or at the very least, supplying the kit to do so, comes in somewhere close to "civilian areas".

I think in this case it has to be realised that Israel is reacting to an unprovoked attack on it's cities and army.

Hardly unprovoked - Israel still occupies land that it invaded illegally in 1967 and that there UN resoultions demanding it retreats from.

If we were attacked by a terrorist cell based in France who were being backed by a bigger country like the USA, would we stand by and let it continue in the knowledge that the French government was powerless to prevent it?

I assume we're occupying illeaglly the part of France that these imaginary terrorists are attacking from ? In which case I'd be sending a strongly worded letter to our PM demanding we withdraw.

Strange thought :

Nazis invaded France and the Allies called the French Resistance heros.

Israel invaded various countries and Hizbollah attempt to "force" them off these captured lands. Yet the Allies of Israel call them terrorists.

Nothing but double standards from Bush and B.lair. They should be resolving the issue NOT taking sides.
