The most sensible answer.

Absolute crap mate, couldn't get in the front side at Wolves, we have a player under Gus who has improved him beyond belief. He is now a great player who has recently signed his new three and a half year contract "PAY RISE". Elliott its now down to your commitment Project Albion, please don't go !!

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Hear Hear, we showed our commitment to you. Elliott show us yours !!

He signed a long contract.

What do you want him to say? I am staying for four years. I'm am staying until a club reaches an agreement with Brighton and they offer me a decent deal, ad finitum.

Ps Try and avoid an aggressive response.

Why any player would want to move to this frontier town team is beyond me.

Norwich are no bigger a club than we are,so really he should stay.

But a player's career is short,so it's up to him, isn't it,no matter what anybody writes on here.

Out of interest, on what criteria do you base the assertion that we are as big a club as Norwich?

No it's quite clear to most sensible people that your views are absolute crap and not mine.I don't know why i'm even replying but i suppose it was the tone you used to give your view more weight. He has just pledged his future by signing a new deal and stated it was an easy decision and he was happy.
That is good enough foe most sensible fans and if he wants to make a statement over these rumours then that's entirely down to him.

Seriously some people really need to put there thinking cap on.

Also just to point out as again your views are somewhat flawed.Bennett didn't get into the Wolves side and that's because he is a young boy.Have you noticed he was loaned out to Bury for a couple of seasons? He is only 22 and not many youngsters go straight into the first team.
Why do you think we are always loaning our kids out? Why do you think Newcastle loaned us KLL? You do know Beckham was loaned out to Preston when he was a kid too?

Yes Bennett has improved a lot but there again Slade can also take just as much credit for spotting him and spent ALL summer trying to sign him.

That is my last post to you as well.

As most people think, we may be in the same division next season.
But there is a fair chance that Norwich could be in the Premiership, in which case no contest.

But if EB came out and said that he isn't interested in a move away from the albion, and is looking forward to next season at falmer (AMEX), wouldn't that end the speculation and interest around him? He has signed a 3.5 yr contract, which as we know counts for shit, so why shouldn't he come out and say he wants to stay. I guess he could be interested in a move, and could be happy to go if the money is right for all parties.

Surely it should be nothing to do with him until AFTER the clubs have agreed a deal, and I don't see that happening any time soon.

He could say it, but I don't think it would end speculation at all. He could say it but it would "count for shit" until the windows closes; we've all seen players say they're happy, but then move on within a week.

Because it could be seen that his spoken word counts for shit as much as his written word.

Plus... it's nobody else's business.

I won't be happy until Elliott, his parents, neighbours and friends promise us first dibs on all Bennetts for the next three generations

In light of a similar type of statement made by Eddie Howe last week I'd be very concerned if Bennett DID come out and say something. All the time he keeps quiet there's probably 'nothing to see here'

Without sounding argumentative, who's business is it? If its TB's, then he has come out saying that he doesn't want to sell players - end of. However, if the price is high enough i am sure he would sell. If its down to the player, then why not say i want to stay - or do a Bent and hand in transfer request.

Ridiculous. He said all he needed to do by signing the deal before Christmas and the club have done his speaking for him by saying he is not for sale. Job done move on

 Fair point!

Why can't we live in a world where everyone is honest and tells the truth - where a contract is honoured and someone’s word is sound.

Would be nice, but the forming of the Premier League and the rise of SKY have long since put paid to those days. It's a money driven sporting world now. :(

Man alive some of you lot need to take your blue and white tinted specs off!

EB is a professional footballer, career wise he has a very short life span. One can only assume that it's his goal to a) play at the highest level possible and b) earn as much money as possible. He's not going to leave us (if he does) on a worse deal than what he is now. He owe us nothing. He come here and performed and as a reward he's got a chance at a promotion (both salary and level). Granted we may well be in the same division next season and it certainly gives him more bargaining power with BHA when it comes to talking about contract improvements.

The club are playing it with a straight bat and playing it well. If EB came out in the Argus and said he wants to stay and then the club sold him people would moan that the club are lacking ambition. The club by keeping all of the players quiet over transfer speculation are doing it 100% correct. Everyone has a price and if the club get an offer they can't refuse which is up to them and only them to decide then so be it.

How must Bournemouth fans feel now? Howe was on TV on Wednesday pledging his allegiance to AFCB and by the weekend he'd jumped ship.

He does need to say anything at all. For goodness sakes people stop making a drama out of nothing. Leave the guy alone, he's done nothing wrong but play very good football for us for which we should be very grateful
