Is Curbishley too much of a long shot ?
aidy bothroyd? heard some say more long ball but does that matter if it gets wins. bugger the piss pot trophy, would you really wanna win that and still possibly get relegated?
It is 1982/1983 revisted this is, we'll get through to the final of the Paintpot and get relegated. It is on the cards, if DK doesn't sort this shambles out.
The parallels to 83 have been made a lot. What did we do with our manager that time (I was only 3 at the time)?
I have been a staunch Adams In man but am begining to wonder as todays defeat was completely down to Adams, White & Booker making the wrong substitutions at the wrong time.
Mike Bailey was sacked in December 1982 as the Albion struggled near the bottom to be replaced temporarily by George Aitken and Jimmy Melia and due to the cup run Melia got the job full time. The cup run went fine and we got to Wembley but we were shit in the league and got relegated.

So an early poor run led to a manager being fired. He was replaced by a tandem, one of which kept the job after relegation? Ok. Thanks.
Was Melia in charge for cup games and Aitken for league games? Or was the decision not to keep Aitken based on something else? Seems a weird decision...
