When it comes to suggestions on how to
Improve the board I’m pretty sure the last person we’ll be calling for advice from is someone who asked for their posts and data to be deleted and claimed to be “immune to Covid” and, falsely, claimed to be making money for the site before, with a total lack of self awareness, re registering with almost exactly the same username, having put the site owner to the trouble of deleting you.
OK, I'll bite, what do I have to lose?

- On all major social media sites, it is common place to have the option to delete all posts and content upon account deletion. NSC does not have that option, and it probably should... but I genuinely am grateful to @Bozza for the efforts of the compliance of my request.

- I am immune to covid. You probably are too. In fact, a majority of all people are (Well, 78% of the UK have antibodies, as of March '23 according to the Office for National Statistics Source: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...s/coronaviruscovid19latestinsights/antibodies ... Why is this even meant to be controversial? Why do you keep bringing this up?

- Without content, NSCs revenue is £0. The site appeal is 0. I am rich in content and rich in appeal. Even though the original comment was (largely) in jest, I do generate a few quid for NSC - as does every other interesting user that generates traffic through content.

- Okay, do you really think I overlooked the fact that my old username was Mustafa, when creating the username Mustafa II... Really think about that one for a bit and see what conclusion you come to.

I try to remain unoffensive - talk about the Albion primarily (usually in positive ways) - and occasionally generate interesting content for the site. In this case, I'm recommending that the countless music threads are tidied up, because it makes the site look absolutely wank.... it's a fair recommendation, surely?

....Also, why haven't you advised how to ignore certain tags as you suggested in post #2? Thanks.

Nice idea... but what if one of the political thread starters, by chance, posts a quality thread that you then miss out on?

It would be nice to have *some* kind of order, at least where the most prolific and irrelevant threads were put in one place for those who enjoy them to enjoy without cluttering up the main board... I mean, it works for the Bear Pit.

NSC does have competition these days. If new and potential users come here and see 20 threads of the same old gits recommending shitty songs from 30 to 50 years ago between each other, it's not a great advert for the site for young or new Albion fans who want to talk football.
30 years ago was only 1994!!
The 'young and new' Albion fans follow NSC on X or Instagram. They will also understand how to ignore threads, either by scrolling past or opening it and then press the 'ignore thread' button, My Jnrs follow NSC on both platforms but I doubt they've actually been on 'this' site and hopefully they don't!
Just in case.... Hello my lovely kids, now bugger off back to X or 'Insta'. 🥰

I'm speechless! :lolol: If you're that concerned about site revenue become a licker!
Edit... I would but I can't afford it so I just start engaging threads instead.

It really doesn't have competition, it's unique and popular and works across different ages precisely because it allows the breadth of topics and conversation, not in spite of allowing them. That's why fans of so many other clubs browse the board as registered users and not...and personally I've learned more about music and much else besides from old gits who have recommended shitty songs from 30-50 years ago.

Because it’s easy to work out for yourself, unless you’re a complete moron.

Makes NSC look great this - a moderator calling a user a moron for asking a technical question.

And no, it's not obvious. I'm very IT literate and I would have assumed it would be under the 'ignoring' tab under the user name. There are options for threads, users, etc... but I can't find the option for tags.

Please advise?

Fucks sake, how hard is it to simply (and I don't know how much more simply this can be put...as it has many, many times), Don't. Open. A. Thread. Which. Holds. No. Interest. To.You.
I have no difficulty ignoring 99% of your 'polls' - the clue is in the title.
Are you really this daft?

'f*** off music threads'?

I don't think we need to be that extreme.

The problem with the music threads is that they are countless and they will infinitely spawn, as they are basically new & differents ways that the contributors can ask to recommend songs to each other, even though most of the tunes found on them are utter wank to everyone else. 😅

At least if they were to stay off the main board, they can have a place where they could do this together, indefinitely, without disturbing those of us who want to talk football (and a selection of other things)... Even our own players don't seem to get more than one single thread about them each!
I’d be up for a football sub-thread. This way I can go about the site without being bothered by people’s strange views on the Albion.

Think there is a core base of NSC that likes to talk about music... A LOT.

Would we all benefit from an 'NSC music' sub-forum?

This is probably going to come across as ruder than intended, so apologies in advance; but I’d love a psychologist to delve in to what makes someone start a new thread for every idle thought that crosses their mind.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a thread started by you for a transfer rumour, or a match thread or a player ratings thread. However you must be close to starting 100 threads a year? It’s bizarre.

There’s quite a delicious irony in someone who asked for their account to be deleted for GDPR reasons quite often appearing like an AI Bot designed to scrape personal information from people.

Life's to short to care about threads! I voted on a biscuit competition thread the other week! You'd be mad to come here just to see threads about football and if you do want that, there's a sub forum of 'Albion' that you can filter. So far this week, I've commented on satellite receivers, car finance, Wordle, Moby, hospitals and I think I may have posted on a couple of threads about actual 'football'.
I think you're overthinking things.

I was about to argue this, but turns out it was a great estimate to be fair.

I've made 106 threads since my rejoining date on December 2022.

...and they've all been f***ing brilliant.

How about a 'shit thread' sub-forum? I bet we could add around...ooh, let's say 106 to start with?

If you want a separate music thread, there virtually is one already - just click on [music] at the start of a music thread, and all the music threads come up together, with the rest filtered out.

If you don't want music threads, just click 'ignore thread' as soon as you see one started, and you'll never see it again. Simples.

Did someone say something about self awareness ?🤣🤣

This post is astonishing, the advertising revenue from this post alone will keep NSC going for months.

Just three steps.
1. Read the thread title
2. Let brain process that the thread is about music or cricket.
3. Don't open the thread.
Not quite............

3. Open thread and immediately click on 'ignore thread' and it disappears so you never have to ignore it, or even be reminded of its hideous presence, ever again. Two second job, literally.
