It isn’t about hating England. It’s about recognising that our national anthem is first and foremost an uninspiring dirge, and then secondly questioning whether it is appropriate for the current day and age.
If you like the National Anthem, you are quite at liberty to say so.

Hater? I love our culture of pubs and music and creativity and innovation and its (creaking) NHS and our armed forces and the Albion and our unparalleled football pyramid and so much more. There is a lot to be proud of and (for balance) plenty to be dismayed at. Irrespective of all that I can still state with complete certainty that GSTK is not fit to be a national anthem for this country and this Island. God Save The King? 21st Century! FFS
