Have put those panels up you linked to over old tiles, stuck back any loose ones first, it works but don't like the panels myself. I might try the composite click tiles next time I need to go over some old ones, only 4mm thick so will work in most cases.I've done this for people on a budget before, tiles (that aren't loose) can be tiled onto but needs some measuring up first
I wouldn't recommend them. Their customers are the builders, so they're more interested in looking after them and pretending they're great, and removing negative reviews, than they are of giving honest feedback.Agree . Use check a trade .
Here, hereCheck a trade isn’t a qualification it’s a third party site that any fool can sign up to and pay the yearly fee.
A potential client asked if I was on it despite his neighbour recommending me I mean he can see my work ffs just pop next door. Didn’t here back
I've been on £375 a day for bathroom refurbs for the past year or so and still booked up 4 - 5 months in advance currently. Nearly a third of that goes on tax and national insurance though!£300 a day labour probably allowed for four days. Always work on the £300 a day labour as myself and everyone I know in the game quotes that now.
Not 100% true.I wouldn't recommend them. Their customers are the builders, so they're more interested in looking after them and pretending they're great, and removing negative reviews, than they are of giving honest feedback.
What I mean is they lost to the original plasterer and then had to pay someone else to do it£14k of plastering! That is a big area that is f***ed.
As the person who originated the phrase on NSC, could I suggest that this would be a five minute job?Yes but how long will it take?
That’s good going pleased for you.I've been on £375 a day for bathroom refurbs for the past year or so and still booked up 4 - 5 months in advance currently. Nearly a third of that goes on tax and national insurance though!
I often tile over old tiles. You need the correct adhesive though and not pre-mixed.I've done this for people on a budget before, tiles (that aren't loose) can be tiled onto but needs some measuring up first
Tiling is a skilled job, and skilled people do come at a price.£300 a day labour probably allowed for four days. Always work on the £300 a day labour as myself and everyone I know in the game quotes that now.
There must be hundreds of bathrooms getting smaller every weekI often tile over old tiles. You need the correct adhesive though and not pre-mixed.
Same goers for estate agents, and FER, Federation of Engine reconditioners . . . . . Give em a few quid and they give you a sticker to show off . . . My bathroom has 3 thicknesses now. Redoing it with a 300m shower tray. There must be hundreds of bathrooms getting smaller every week
I no longer install full bathrooms but did one that needed the tiles removing, they came off easily to reveal another set
Of all the trades that exist plastering is the one which impresses and amazes me the most. So much to get right, and it has to look perfect or it looks shit.£14k of plastering! That is a big area that is f***ed.
First bathroom I did by myself was for a friend of mine. He suggested tiling over but I said no we'll crack on and remove them. There must be hundreds of bathrooms getting smaller every week

I can do small areas to a good standard, longer walls I find it tough to get it on quick enough, especially on a hot dry day. I have found a sponge float very useful on bigger areas, can help rescue the finish if you didn't get back to it quite in time. I dont like doing it, but it's often tough to get a good plasterer when you need them.Of all the trades that exist plastering is the one which impresses and amazes me the most. True, but if the walls aren't flat then any tiling won't be either! Alternatively, you prep the walls for panels just as you would for tiling. These can be a nightmare if the walls aren't flat
Assuming "giving birthday" is a birthday blowie, is that really a reason not to fix stuff? And now I am intrigued as to what the complication was. Maybe she sneezed and there was accidental biting. In which case, cut the bloke some slack.Guy pretty much refused to redo it, his missus had just given birthday, complication with the birthday , needs time off blah blah - 6 months later not been in contact.
