Ticket Exchange

Anyone know what the latest is on an official ticket exchange? I'm desperate for a ticket tomorrow for a mate who is down and wants to do his Amex debut and tickets in the NSC unofficial exchange are flying out about 2 mins after being posted up.

Then the galling thing will be a crowd read out of about 20,448 as plenty of STH no shows and club comps failing to be sold mean empty seats. Daft. :nono:

Don't lose heart - tickets come up on the NSC ticket exchange almost all the way until kick-off - they get picked up less quickly on the morning of the game itself.

You could always use an RSS reader for the feed of the ticket exchange so you get to see as soon as a new ticket is offered.

Even if there is an exchange process in place, don't think that all the no shows will be on offer. Many won't put their ticket up for exchange.

Just be quicker on the uptake here. I've managed to get tickets a couple of times here just being alert and a little bit of luck. Put a wanted ad up maybe?

Won't be so much of a problem next season with the extra seats as more will be on general sale and who knows, maybe an official exchange.

Did you not try to buy when the tickets came on general sale? I'm off to the Millwall game in a week and a half and bought my ticket a couple of weeks ago.

My friend has only decided to come down in the last day or so from up north and really wants to go to his first game at The Amex (Hes done a few away this season). The point is its fine if it was sold out but there will be plenty of empty seats. With an official exchange Im sure many more ST no shows would use it as you wouldnt have to risk handing your card over to a stranger or arranging post/meet ups etc.

Probably wont be an issue at all next season with the new seats, and untimately the only people that have really missed out are the club who could have made more money from flogging the seats on at an admin fee, and more satisfied STH's who feel they are still getting value when not attending and more likely to renew.

My suspicion is that the club are taking their eye off the ball here as efforts turn towards the application for new seats. Which is a mistake, IMO. Because even in this division, there are going to be occasional games where the demand might well outstrip supply even with 30,000 seats.

Still, Bozza's RSS feed suggestion is a good one, but is never going to work for those who have only a passing interest in seeing a local football match.

Probably going to have a spare pair for WSU Block for tomorrow which I'll put up on the Ticket Exchange shortly when I've confirmed availability. In the absence of a proper exchange I guess we'll have to sort out meeting outside and doing an escorted entrance through the barriers.

Or you could just offer them straight to Albion Dan and make his day...

(If you don't trust handing over smartcards, and I understand that, the club will produce paper re-prints for a particular game on request)

I always go in with whom ever I am selling the tickets to - paper tickets are easy to request. I don't have any this week, but there's usually one of our 13 that isn't going so it's worth (as it is for me to encourage you to) check the tickets for sale board. I've sold tickets on the way to the ground with an hour to go.

.

I thought the club said (on ATC here I think) that it would happen early in 2012, or did they publish something to the contrary

Why would they not do this ? If it's set up sensibly all they would have to do is log in to their ticket account, and tick a box saying 'Please resale my seat'. The resale, and handling of the ticket for entry would all be down to the club, takes it out of the STH's hands. STHs who don't do this would be foolish, and selfish.

I think some people wouldn't just because they're lazy or forget about it, but I agree that official is certainly the way to go. Of course depends how the club handle the money though, I wonder if they'd put it on your smartcard or if you could use it to pay some of your season ticket (assuming you're on DD). Latter better obviously, but I buy a pie and drink at most games so wouldn't mind it on smartcard.

That would work well.

I did notice on the login page for topping up season ticket e-cash there is a comment that they are going to provide the ability to allocate entry rights to other people's cards. If all members get a card that we could transfer to that would be excellent.

Presumably you'd get back a fair chunk of the ST ticket price for the game, less deductions. Can't imagine there being many STHs out there too lazy or forgetful to have £10/£15/£20 etc. loaded onto their smartcard for the sake of a couple of minutes effort. Might be wrong tho.

Well based on me, I know that if I just send my old iPod Nano to Apple they'll send me a brand new one worth about £45, because there was a recall. Have I done it? No, I keep bloody forgetting.

Of course I am an idiot, so I may be alone in this assumption :p

I'm saying nothing, me, other than the replacement for your iPod Nano would be an 8GB 6th Generation model that even in the Argos Sale is £114.99
