[Albion] Tickertape reception in honour of Alexis

Get your balloons and streamers sorted for Wednesday night if you haven't already. Or a bog roll and a couple of pockets full of ripped up newspaper (free at the station) to luzz if you're old school. The Maracanã Stadium in 1978 is our aim.

Was always going to be good at Charlton and now Alexis has won the World Cup pretty much singlehandedly it can be a massive celebration party - which for once the football match might add to rather than spoil..

p.s. Mods - can we have an Alexis prefix for new threads?

Wouldn’t it be best to wait until he’s playing for us again
No. The moment will have passed. Wednesday is the night to celebrate his achievement with fellow Albion fans. Home fans can always do it again if they/we want to when he's back.

Isn’t having a ticker tape celebration for Alexis when he’s not there a bit like having one for Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin while they were still flying home?

OK, you're right. Enthusiasm quelled.

Am I allowed to have a laugh singing lots of brilliant songs about him? Or is that a bit stupid because he isn't there?

He will be getting one in Buenos Aries (sp?). I would save a celebration until he scores or assists for US rather than Argentina. He is one of a team not the one man. Hopefully the lad’s friendly banter will bring him back to Earth on his return.
This sums it up for me. Leave the Argentinian fans to enjoy their glory. Congratulate Alexis on his return to Brighton.

Would have thought NYE against Arsenal, providing he's back then. Presented to the Amex just before kick off with a montage on the big screen for a recognition like round of applause. Would be a nice touch and don't think much more than that is needed
There’s no way he’ll be back for the Arsenal game - he will be given some time off to recuperate and the Everton game also comes too soon. Personally I think the next time we will see him starting a game will be Liverpool on 14th Jan

Good plan, let's wait for new Year's eve at the Amex, when a full house of Albion fans can welcome back Alexis, and welcome in the new year, all in one go.

Reckon he’ll walk on the pitch for some kind of presentation before the Arsenal game, but probably won’t play.
