We had an almighty storm in the mountains south of Chania in Crete couple of days ago…

Been sat out in our back garden this afternoon sweating profusely yet just spent 2 weeks in Crete in blistering temps without sweating at all…

Bloody humidity in this country is a killer!

Brighton factually.....
Bloody Nora, this is how I remember thunder storms in the summer holidays as a kid, proper scary.

Expect now I’m not scared about getting struck, I’m worried about what will leak, or the drive to work on oily roads after a dry spell.

Now, this is freaky and I’ve never seen it happen before but at least 1 in 5 of those lightening strikes passing over Brighton produced enough electrical charge in the atmosphere to light up a small set of garden fairy lights in my neighbour’s garden by induction. Love a lightening storm!!

Left the house just about 4.30am and lightning (no audible thunder) over the hills of Lewes every few seconds then a Bibilical downpour from 4.45. I pity the guy I saw walking towards the station in a smart suit shortly before it started.

Of course, they'll be able to use it as exceptional circumstances and dump more sewage into the rivers and sea!!!

Beat me to it :lolol:

Anyway, time to add thunderstorms to things I liked before getting a dog that are now a total pain.

You can bet he left his converted loft window open as well

Brighton peppered with lightning around 5am this morning - hasn’t stopped raining yet

West is BEST
I normally work nights but I’m on a course all week that is 8am to 4pm. So in the mornings I find myself in a real funkle, all tossed about by odd sleeping times and fitful sleep, having those pre-wake dreams where you think you’ve already got dressed and had breakfast etc. Then this morning thunder and lightening broke the darkness at about 04:30. I was so disoriented, I didn’t know what was going on :lolol:
I almost fell out of bed. Was like one of those ‘Nam flashbacks you see in films :lolol:

Took me a minute to realise what was going on!
